Chris Johnson: Titans Can Finish 10-6
The Tennessee Titans just got their first victory of the season in Week 8, beating division rival Jacksonville. If you've been keeping track, that puts the reigning AFC South champs at 1-6, pretty much well out of the playoff picture.
Not so fast, says speedy running back Chris Johnson, the Titans' top talent. Johnson is confident Jeff Fisher's team can run right back into contention, and he shared those thoughts in an interview with Tim Montemayor on Sporting News Radio on Wednesday.
"We really believe like we can, like we started off 10-0 last year, before we played Jacksonville, we sat down and was like we really feel like we can go 10-0 in these last 10 games," Johnson said.
He does have a good point. If they can start with that streak in one season, why couldn't they finish with that streak the next season, when they're healthy and have a favorable schedule?
Let's look at the slate, shall we: at 49ers, vs. Bills, at Texans, vs. Cardinals, at Colts, vs. Rams, vs. Dolphins, vs. Chargers, at Seahawks.
Really, only Indianapolis looks like a sure loss. The other teams are flawed and beatable, especially when the Titans are buoyed by their Nashville home crowd. Johnson should have many more big rushing days ahead as well.
Now the question is, will 10 wins be good enough to make the playoffs?
