NEW YORK - Green Bay Packers Johnny Jolly(notes), Al Harris(notes) and rookie B.J. Raji(notes) have been fined US$5,000 each by the NFL for actions in last Sunday's loss to Minnesota.

Defensive tackle Jolly was fined on Friday for unnecessary roughness for head-butting Minnesota running back Chester Taylor(notes).

Cornerback Harris was fined for unnecessary roughness for grabbing a helmet-opening to make a tackle, and DT Raji was fined for a major facemask violation.

Arizona DT Darnell Dockett(notes) was hit for $5,000 for a helmet-to-helmet contact in a game with Carolina, and Panthers tight end Jeff King(notes) was fined the same amount for striking an opponent late.

The biggest fine of the week went to Cleveland linebacker Kamerion Wimbley(notes), $7,500 for roughing the passer when he struck Chicago's Jay Cutler(notes) in the face.

Indianapolis linebacker Clint Session(notes) was fined $5,000 for roughing the passer because he struck 49ers QB Alex Smith in the knee area.

As for Jolly, Packers coach Mike McCarthy expressed his displeasure with the play earlier in the week. Taylor was tackled for a five-yard loss on a third-down pass play. Instead of kicking a field goal, Minnesota had an automatic first down at the Packers seven and scored a touchdown four plays later.

"Not very smart," McCarthy said. "We had them stopped. Personal fouls in that situation and the way it happened, from my understanding, it's unacceptable, to extend the drive like that and it cost us four points."

Jolly wouldn't say what provoked his aggressive act on Taylor with the play over.

"Hey, I play on edge," Jolly said. "They made the call. A good call by the ref," Jolly said after the game.

Once again a "Pro" football player talking about himself and not the team. Jolly, if I am your coach you sit the rest of the game after that stupid and selfish penalty. He knew it was wrong and did it anyway because it was all about him.

Yeah, my husband and I lament every week the constant game interruptions for 'late' calls, reviews, and the fact that we can't keep up with the rule tweaks and changes to the game. It's FOOTBALL for cripe's sake...let 'em play!

Lifes hard wear a helmet! Oh wait they do. Since they get hit lets pay them millions. Oh wait your not allowed to hit anyone. Nascar baseball, football all act like they really care about the game or sport. Then leave it alone and let it be the sport that it is instead of changing it for money reasons, Have some integrity. Real integrity no the kind you've made up over the years. It's getting to the point you can't tell wrestling and sport apart anymore, ya just know they're both fake and empty.
