Vikings RB Peterson limited in practice

  • Print

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP)—Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was limited in practice Wednesday with a back injury.

The NFL’s leading rusher was listed on the team’s injury report, three days after rushing for 92 yards and a touchdown against the Lions. The team hosts San Francisco this Sunday.

Vikings middle linebacker E.J. Henderson(notes) did not practice at all because of a shoulder injury. He had eight tackles in the 27-13 win over Detroit on Sunday and is the team’s leading tackler this season.

Safety Madieu Williams(notes) was limited with a shoulder injury and linebacker Erin Henderson(notes), E.J.’s brother, did not practice with a calf injury.

if you hate 9ers and the Vikes why are you commenting on a post about the vikes and the 9ers, i swear, dimwits, i dont go on the Cowboys stories and bash them theyre just not my team, hey Mikeekert.. WTF? Gore hasnt done ENOUGH for your respect? IF he was on your fav team im sure youd say hes better than AP Not enough to compare him to AP my behind, he was more consistant than AP last year, he's been a monster for the last four years even on a team with a low budget and poor run support, Id say he's earned the rights to say hes one of the best backs of the last 4 years, and has proven durability which is one thing that AP cannot prove until he's been around a few years

I think Favre is dead without AP to hand off to. Any junior high quarterback in the nation can hand off to Peterson. Favre cannot tolerate a rush. A couple more sacks and he really will have a cracked rib or something worse. I really can't stand the lying jerk. I cheer ever hit on Favre and hope each one will be his last.

Since when is running it up the gut for TDS of 80 and 79yds lucky? The guy was the NFL's player of the week. Give him a little credit.

I'm sure Gore won't do that to MIN but cmon Gore isn't a slouch. I'm sure many NFL teams would love to have him in their backfield.

Can't believe Gore is even mentioned in the same sentence as Peterson.

Gore averaged 1.4 yards a carry for Week 1. He had about 1000 yards in 08 and 07.

He gets lucky on two big plays last week, and suddenly AP and Gore are equals ?

    Gimme a break.

the san fran pantyliners will not beat the vikes on sunday.jesse (post 206) favre was picking himself up off the turf because he wasn't throwing picks or taking intentional grounding calls.he's showing what a team leader he is.so go ahead and hate on the vikes all you want.i'm a minnesotan and been a vikings fan since early 60's and always will be.
i know it will piss people off but steelers, patriots, cardinals or giants will not be in the superbowl this year.will the vikings?i hope so but theres alot of teams that are going to be better than last year or the breaks will go their way this year.

I thinks the 49er's look solid....And I love what Singletary is doing in SF...This is comming from Raider fan, so you KNOOOW I am being objective when I speak complements about the niner's....But I will say that this is the first REAL test for the niners to show that they are a legit team...I mean cummon...Winning the trash that is the NFC West (AFC West is no better) should not be difficult (being that they already beat the Card in ARiz), which is why the beating out of division opponent are key for niners to gain respect around the league as a legitimate team to be reconed with....With that said I do think the Vikings do have a better team esp on offense, and will squeek out a win in week 3...They know I F.Gore(mr amazing) is the KEY to the niners offense and I seriously doubt they will give up 200+ yards on the ground to him like the terrible Seapiegons did last week ....I think that AD is licking his chops for a rematch because of what they did to him in 07', so if hes healthy watch out....Good test for niners run D (and Pat Will)....This is the game of the week I think!!!! cant wait to see the outcome....

Hey T, you need to relearn your NFL history. The biggest comeback in NFL playoffs is the 1993 NFL playoff game between the Buffalo Bills and the Houston Oilers. The Bills were down 35-3 in the third quarter, which is a 32 point deficient.

49ers have a great chance to beat the vikings. Here are some reasons.
    1. Week 1 the vikings were losing going into the 3rd quarter against a pathetic team in the browns.
    2. Week 2 the vikings were losing going into the 3rd quarter against a pathetic team in the lions.
    Both terrible defenses.
    3. Week 3 the vikings are losing going into the 3rd quarter against a top 10 defense and can't make a comeback.
But go ahead. Keep doing what everyone has been doing. Look past the 49ers to next week. Keep thinking they are the team of the past 8 years. I'd love to see my boys start 3-0. Dang, 4-5 more wins should be enough to take the division.

    Ok Vi-cream fan Ray C.
Well lets see, the 49ers last won a playoff in 2002 when Jeff Garcia beat the Giants to come from 24 points down, which, by the way is the greatest come from behind playoff victory in NFL history.

Also, I feel for ya buddy. I mean if the Niners had LOST 4 Super Bowls I might say 'I don't care', but believe me, 5 championships can bring a lifetime of pride in being a 49er fan.

Now as for Sundays game, do you really think pick-happy Farve is going to stand a chance against the 49ers pass rush? Even if he is able to avoid the pass rush, Nate 'sledgehammer' Clements and our secondary will have a field day, I say 2 intercepts and 1 fumble recovery.

Well I got to get back to work now, and I don't live in Minnesota so I don't have to stick my arm up a cows *sshole, like you do LOSER..

    Go 49ers.

Childress's first year as a Viking Headcoach lost the the 49er's in San Fransico. Scored a FG the opening drive and that was it. THE WORST GAME EVER!! 53 minutes of blah.

    49ner's fans

Last time the Vikings and 49er's met in your city your defense did a great job stopping AD. Too bad Chester Taylor ran up 80 yards and a TD on one play. Kevin Williams (DT) INT the QB and ran it for a TD. Pat Williams INT your QB and chugged 5 yards and the third string DT INT the same QB.

Dont care about the 70's SB losses or your 80's trophies. When did your team last win its division, the NFC West from the Seahawks or even the Cardinals? Scoreboard has Vikings up by a TD on you in the Dome.
