Hasselbeck’s daughter hit by dirt bike, recovering

SEATTLE (AP)—The daughter of Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck(notes) is recovering after surgery to repair injuries sustained on a family trip to Central Washington over the bye weekend.

Hasselbeck posted on his Twitter site Tuesday he had the “worst bye week ever. 6 year old daughter got hit by a dirt bike.”

The 34-year-old father of three said he spent his weekend at the hospital.

He thanked the dentist who repaired Mallory’s mouth and the staff at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. He also thanked the staff who treated Mallory at Seattle Children’s Hospital upon the family’s return home.

He said she will miss her basketball season but will recover.

    politics aside, it doesn't matter who's kid, or why. it just matters that she got hurt and there is a family devastated.. this is sports news..football, dirt bikes, what part of those don't say sports? c'mon people, if you do not care, that's fine, but why take the time to post unrelated comments to it.. by the way, how fast do dirt bikes go? dude could've been drunk and ran off the path, faster than anyone could react, i doubt hde put his daughter in harms way on purpose, most families go camping. they did nothing wrong and their daughter got hurt, have some empathy/class!

    Kimmi-"I feel bad but could care less"- Okay did you make a stupid comment that was completely useless? OR do you not really know the phrase...which by the way is, " I couldN'T care less".     First to Shar, comment #107, a bye week is a week off for NFL teams during the season.
    Second, how did all the political talk come about re: this article? If it's because of Elisabeth Hasselbeck, then you are mistaken. Elisabeth is married to Tim Hasselbeck, not Matt. Tim and Matt are brothers. Matt lives in Seattle area, Tim and Elisabeth live/work in NY area. I think if you want to talk politics, find a different message board. Then make yourself sound intelligent. And get names right. Good luck.
