Rams’ Jackson misses practice again

  • Print

ST. LOUIS (AP)—St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson did not practice for the second straight day while recovering from lower back spasms, but the team remains confident he’ll play Sunday against Seattle.

Guard Richie Incognito(notes), fullback Mike Karney(notes) (neck) and offensive tackle Jason Smith(notes) also did not practice Thursday. Smith has not been cleared to return from a mild concussion and Incognito has been all but ruled out for a fourth straight game with a foot injury.

Coach Steve Spagnuolo said the team was playing it safe with Jackson, who has four straight 100-yard rushing games. He said Jackson told him he felt better but not good enough to practice.

A great running back on a bad team. Why is he still there? He will waste his best years with the Rams.Just like Eric Dickerson, and Bettis did.Trade him,and get a QB like St.Louis gave up on.Are WR's extinct in St. Louis?

From an objective point of view(I could care less about the Rams, other than Jackson on my fantasy team) I think too many STL fans are too focused on if Bulger should be replaced or not. What STL needs is an offensive line, imagine S-Jax with a half decent line, than you'll see if Bulger is worth keeping(I'd say he's upper 2nd tier, 10-15th in the NFL.) I commend both of them for playing behind the "Swiss cheese" OL, wondering what injury awaits them next because of it......just an outsiders opinion.

QB should be high on the draft list.....spags is making progress but needs a decent qb to get the offense go'ing.

With a good QB The Rams might be a good contender. Until then, its all on Jackson, every week.

trade jackson... for a great qb and few other players.. might win then

jackson be worn out too soon before you can build a team around him, so let him shine on a great team

@ Duey. Look at the date on Bucko's comment. It was days before the Rams first win.....in late October.

Also, from what Bucko said, Jackson has gotten a rushing touchdown once in his last 3 games. So, he's definitely finding the white stripe. I hope he plays on Sunday. He is a strong-willed trooper on an awful team.

Jackson would be better if the Rams had a real QB, Jackson is a beast, the guy is huge 235 lb back.

What is the record for most yards from scrimmage without a TD? Jackson has to be getting close. If he doesn't find the white line against the Lions, he will have 1000 yards and NO Touchdowns. That is pathetic. 0-16, here we come!

i had sj on my fantasy team last year. wasn't great, but wasn't horrible. i had a feeling the rams line would hurt him, so i insulated myself by selecting thomas jones as my reserve. that dude blew up.

    but i digress.

sj's heart may have been lacking at times in years past, but not this year. his down-to-the-wire intensity against sf was outrageous. i wish he could pick up the blitz better, but i have no trouble believing that he'll bring it week in and week out, even against the performance-enhanced "williams wall" aka "fat farm."

I agree with sagerbj.......s-jax is a beast on a sorry team, with an extremely sorry offense and he's still ranked number 4, i bet if the tables were turned and ap had an offense like jax, he wouldnt be nearly as productive as him....im out bruh

You don't know what you're talking about Matthew S. He's the only offensive threat on a terrible offense. Every team they play game plans against him and he's still fourth in the league is rush yards. He stays in games they have no chance of winning so he can beat up on defenders. He has no heart? You're an idiot

I had S-Jax on my fantasy team last year. He cost me any chance of a good season because he is such a -ussy. After last year, I wouldn't take him with my 8th pick. He is a waste of life and has no heart. Keep talking S-Jax-you suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the Rams will be fine. Rams fan will be snubbed for being too hopeful; however, once the season starts, the Rams will hopefully show their hard work.

It is about time to slip out of the high-heels and into some football cleats and start leaving some dents. If they don't then may I suggest painting the horns pink?
