Detroit LB Sims leaves with hamstring injury

  • Print

SEATTLE (AP)—Detroit Lions outside linebacker Ernie Sims(notes) left in the third quarter against Seattle with a hamstring injury suffered trying to track down Seattle running back Julius Jones(notes).

Sims appeared to injure his right leg, although the Lions didn’t specify which leg. The team said his return was questionable.

Sims was chasing Jones at the front-end of a screen pass that went for 49 yards. After laying on the field for several minutes, Sims slowly walked to the Lions bench. He had three tackles.

Detroit cornerback William James(notes) was also shaken up later in the quarter after a hard collision with receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh(notes). He returned in the fourth quarter.

LT69812, you are complete moron! That should have happened to Arizona too oh wait they just went to a Super Bowl. If you are embarrassed by the Lions don't watch them. Yeah I knew the Lions were gonna let me down in this game. Everyone picked the Seahawks to whip the Lions and the Lions stayed competitive and had a chance to win at the end. Now I know that most of you out there are not the brightest, probably pretty close to the mentally handicap mark, but that is a vast improvement from last year. Did anyone really think they were a playoff team this year? I also think its funny how Stafford is only half a season in and he is a bust? Thats just dumb.

When Simms went out Levy came in and the defense really picked up, I really think Levy should be the starter, trade Simms for a decent db...

Matt Stafford is a complete and total BUST! No question about it, end of story, PERIOD! What a historic bunch of worthless LOSERS! This garbage franchise has never played in a Super Bowl, have only won 1 playoff game in the Super Bowl years and have not won the Championship of the NFL since 1957. This franchise needs to be forced to be folded and gone for good. They are nothing more that a joke and an embarrassment to the NFL and football of all levels.

How pathetic these lions are, a useless waste of 47 million on a piece of @#$% qb. I said at the beginning of the game that the first half was going to be about all the points they got. I also called what stafford was going to do, on the money with 5 picks. He can't throw a ball on target if he got to hand it to the receiver. And for all our girlie players, they are just what I said, the entire team is a retirement community. We pick a team of buys to play a Mans sport. Look for calvin johnson to leave when his contract is up. Stafford threw a couple nice balls all night and the rest, a whole bunch more, he threw it like a retard. It's time to admit he's a waste..he's a college qb not a nfl qb. His picks had nothing to do with any pressure, just piss poor throws, like always. The lions will never ever be a pro caliber team.

Rebuilding won't get you anywhere if the players can't stay healthy. Granted injuries happen, but this is the same old story year after year. Can't we get through training camp and the preseason without losing the majority of the team to injuries? Come on fellas!
