Calvin Johnson in Lions lineup

  • Print

SEATTLE (AP)—Dynamic wide receiver Calvin Johnson(notes) is in the Detroit Lions’ starting lineup for the first time in almost a month.

Coach Jim Schwartz had said his “special” target would be a game-time decision Sunday against the Seahawks. He is active for the first time since he injured his right knee on Oct. 11 against Pittsburgh.

Johnson has 20 catches of 25-plus yards the last two seasons, second most in the NFL. The 6-foot-5 receiver has a huge size advantage on Seattle’s smallish secondary.

Starting defensive tackle Grady Jackson(notes) was inactive for the first time this season. Detroit had listed him as probable with a knee injury, though he did not practice Thursday or Friday.

Seattle was relatively healthy, given it’s had 12 starters miss at least one game to injury.

He's a rookie QB with just 6 games played, what do you expect????? Sanchez had a 5 int game as well and the talent on the Jets far exceeds the Lions. Peyton Manning led the league in INT's his rookie season, Eli Manning just completed 48% of his passes and had a 55.4 passer rating on a hell of a lot better Giants team.

All rookies are going to struggle here and especially when there isn't really any help around them they're struggle more. How well do you think Matt Ryan would have done without Michael Turner? Joe Flacco without the Ravens D where he didn't have to win games just manage them?

Who cares, you have a qb that sucks and a defense and offense the sucks as well. Stafford can not throw acurate passes if he got to hand it off and call it a pass. He is not geared for the nfl. He will always be a rookie in the nfl and a piece of @#$% he is now. Thanks matt millen for wasting another draft pick and 47 million dollars... ( matt millen is still with the lions, they still have mayhew and his loser buddy).
