Lions coach hoping Johnson, Smith can play Sunday

It doesn't matter who's at quarterback or even if Calvin plays..the lions don't have the talent to win. Then you go to the coaches..they don't know how to maximize any potential from their players. Time and time again, they continue to keep backus and raoila as staters...they are far from starters, maybe water boys at best. But for years now, the worst players in the nfl still hold starting positions, now that's pathetic and discouraging for the backup players who are way better then these under-achievers. And to say to the backups. "now watch how these two guys play ", only makes for our backups to become losers like backus and raoila. There should be a film of backus and raoila, called," How not to play football and if you do, you LOSE ". And for Kevin Smith to be a running back, that's the biggest joke next to backus and raoila being starters. He is not a pro running back, maybe he was something in college, I don't know. But he is not an NFL running back. He doesn't look for holes in the line, never has and never will. We need a real running back, not another "want to be" player at a certain posotion. Schwartz is showing how ignorant he really os by saying that Smith is the work horse....a work horse accomplishes it's task, not continueously get embarrassed by hie performance and for running his big mouth. What has it been, 50 plus years and another 50 plus years of rebuilding ??? How pathetic can a team be ? Wouldn't it be funny if their game was blacked out again tody ? Would that be another record for the lions, being blacked out at home one week and then blacked out the following week in an away game ??

Lions are the worst franchise, because at least the Raiders went to a Super Bowl this decade! Lions look horrible this year..., especially on offense! Lions have won 2 of their last 31 games, after starting 6-2. Lions also decided to get rid of an all pro DL, and since then have been extremely soft up the middle and had virtually little pass rush many games. The media and fans of Detroit were upset the DL was over weight. Now they have in shape light guys that can get pushed back 3-5 yards off the line of scrimmage most running plays!

There is something very simular with the Lions defense,.and the Wolverines defense,....hmmmmmm,....let see,...oh yeh,.....there are NO defenses in the 2nd half of the games !!...I won't even watch the game today,...can't stand to see them blow another one,....I'll have more fun, drinking a cold one, and going outside and watch the grass grow !!.....more exciting anyways !!

Well gee lets see. the lions have been a 'rebuilding team' now since, since, since well hell i can't remember. my first game was at tiger stadium, back then the lions has a killer defense and not much else. they were a young and rebuilding team back then. you can change the coachs, you can change the g.m . you can change players and philosiphy on offense and defense....they have even changed their uniforms. all to no avail. theres only one thing thats stayed the same since 1950. when you've changed everything else and still continue to suck. there is only one person left to point the finger at as to why.

all you guys that think Stafford is not good we need to give him time he is just a rookie and you need to give Schwartz time too. this is there first year with the lions and i think that they are doing there best with what they got. first we need to stop get hurt all the time and they need to started catching the ball. the game last sunday in the first half 4or5 drop balls. right won matt just came back of the knee Injurie so GO LIONS AND WIN THIS SUNDAY

You're a moron to think that a college team could beat a pro team. Even the very best college teams only send about 5% of their entire roster (when eligible) to the pro-level. The Lions would win 100 times out of 100 against any college team.

The biggest problem the Lions have is over valuing their own players. Raiola and Backus are back-ups at best. Non-of their DE's are high caliber players. Until the Lions correct the most basic problems (both lines) they will never have a winning team... People forget that the Lions had pro-bowl linemen (Lomas Brown & Kevin Glover) when Barry played - they also had a decent defensive line - and guess what? They actually won games back then. REBUILD THE TRENCHES WITH HIGH ROUND DRAFT PICKS!!!

It's the curse of Sanders lol, like Ruth the same will happen to the Lions. they had the best and never built a team around him so too bad, they need to trade Johnson. Just wasting his talent also.
