Turner sits out another practice for Falcons

  • Print

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP)—Atlanta Falcons running back Michael Turner(notes) sat out another practice because of a high ankle sprain, raising more doubts that he’ll be ready for Sunday’s crucial game against Philadelphia.

Turner missed a game after initially spraining his right ankle at Carolina on Nov. 15. He re-injured the ankle in last week’s victory over Tampa Bay.

Also missing practice Thursday were two other offensive starters, guard Harvey Dahl(notes) (ankle) and receiver Michael Jenkins(notes) (ankle). The Falcons have already ruled out quarterback Matt Ryan(notes) with an injured big right toe.

IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO STARTS! they will be shut down. the eagles will out gain the falcons by double. if anyone needs fantasy advice about the falcons...you better bench them all this week

Don't be stupid. Sit him. There will be another game down the schedule he can play. We're not starting D-jack due to his head booboo.

Set the 2nd stringers have a day.

Turner should learn from Iverson's mistake about......"PRACTICE".

The Eagles haven't allowed a 100 yard rusher in 18 games, so I wouldn't start any of them.

I live in the Seattle area. Word is that Julius Lones will be ready to play, however, Forsett will get the start. Coming off of a 130 yard / 2 TD performance... he ain't backin' up no one this week.

Snelling will back up Norwood if Turner is out, and from the looks of it, he will be.

I am going with Snelling. When it becomes a blow out he will get the bulk of the carries anyhow.

I've got a choice between Justin Forsett and Jason Snelling. Both could start and both could play back up. I'm thinking that Snelling would be the best bet even in a back-up role as Forsett was limited on the ground last week. Any thoughts?

I hope we can do well enough to let Burner rest that ankle at least another week , should be able to if JN will step up and our wide outs will catch the ball

If Turner starts can we expect him to play the whole game, or would Snelling be a better option seeing as he'll get more carries late in the game? I have both players and nothing but a big dilema on my hands....

Randy def meant Stewart, because he could be a starter on most rosters. He definitely isnt on the Falcons though. He got called out for it and tried making up an excuse saying he meant Snelling, who would be backup in almost every organization.

Turner will get playing time but snelling will get majority of the touches. He is doing just fine and no need to risk a set back with turner the way snelling has performed. DW will be back next week to carry the load. Then J stewart will join the tandum the following week
