Sheldon Brown fined for wearing mask

PHILADELPHIA (AP)—Eagles cornerback Sheldon Brown(notes) was fined $10,000 by the league for wearing a Halloween mask during pregame introductions last Sunday.

Brown ran onto the field wearing a mask similar to what the character Jason wore in the “Friday the 13th” movies. He had two interceptions in the season opener at Carolina and may have been trying to make a statement that he’s far from finished.

Brown was unhappy with his contract situation during the offseason, but the Eagles refused to restructure his deal.

    Well, somebody needs to be the next Brian Dawkins. Sheldon Brown was trying to go Jason Voorhees in his pregame introduction to intimidate his opponents. And he gets fined $10,000. That's unfair.

    To those who say that Vick didn't have any playmakers to help him in ATL: why then did Roddy White suddenly become a star when he got a real QB who could actually get him the ball? Why did the Falcons OCs have to drastically scale back the playbook during training camp when it became obvious that Vick couldn't be trusted to hit short timing routes in a West Coast offense? Do Reid and Morninwheg think they can improve his accuracy? Hasn't really worked with McNabb.

    Vick is a phenomenal athlete and a below-average QB. That's the plain truth. Great arm, but it doesn't look as impressive when you're firing passes 3 feet over your receivers' heads or 2 feet behind them on a slant route. Not to mention the poor decision-making.

    Vick is a dynamic quarterback, his problem was that the Falcolns had no playmakers when he was there!!
    Who on the Falcolns could make a play? There defense was average at best!! Dan Marino could have been on those Falcolns teams, and he would've met the same fate Vick did, only worse because Marino couldn't run!!!

    Wait until 2010, Vick will be better as a quarterback for the Eagles, than he ever was for the Falcolns. The difference is a Coach who is offensive-minded, and will put some playmakers around the quarterback!!

    Vick will have more weapons with the Eagles than he ever had with the Falcolns, plus; Vick IS A WEAPON!! So HATE all you want because in 2010, YOU REALLY WILL BE HATING HIM, BECAUSE HE WILL SET THE NFL ON FIRE!!

    hey Superstar Impact, it's pretty sad that the only thing you have to brag about is championships won before the NFL-AFL merger. that would be like saying that the Browns are one of the best teams because they owned the AFL before the merger. get real.....and if they "own" the NFC so much, why aren't the in the Super Bowl every year? and for the record, i'm not an "Eagle Nation" hater, just read your comment and had to tell you how ridiculous you sound

    This is outrageous. Sheldon Brown gets fined for wearing a mask and the league decides that the jerk who threw himself on top of McNabb IN THE ENDZONE AFTER THE TOUCHDOWN HAD BEEN CALLED didn't do anything wrong. I don't know who the mask hurt but McNabb has a broken rib and is out for two games so far. If they want to protect quarterbacks they should do it across the board and not pick those they don't want to protect. I suppose the Saint who had the Eagle by the throat was only protecting Brees! The official (I think his name is Riveral) just "didn't see it". C'mon NFL, play fair.

    anybody who thinks Vick is one of the most dynamic quarterbacks of all time apparently has no idea what makes a good quarterback. vick was horrible as a quarterback before he went to jail, and he'll be horrible now. they should use him as a running back/wide receiver/return man, that's the only place he'll do any good
