# 73, i mostly agree with you, but i have to admit, we sports fans know a little more than absolutely nothing about the game, c'mon we all watch it, but there are so many of us that think we know more than the people that actually have a job in the NFL, that have reality problems. so in short we see enough to form an opinion, but lack the discipline to keep them to ourselves, to keep from sounding like complete morons. LOL
and Jason G., you might want to check out California, Massachusetts, or New York if your looking for a mate !!!!, and stop fantasizing about Romo, he don't seem to be your type, he dates women !!!!

Bob Ryan, the Vice President and editor-in-chief of NFL Films, coined this for the Cowboys in 1979. After preparing and editing the team’s 1978 season highlight film he had to come up with a title for the film. [7] He was quoted as saying:
I wanted to come up with a different twist on their team highlight film. I noticed then, and had noticed earlier, that wherever the Cowboys played, you saw people in the stands with Cowboys jerseys and hats and pennants. Plus, they were always the national game on television.
During the Cowboys' first game of the 1979 season, a nationally televised game against the St. Louis Cardinals (which Dallas won 22-21), the television announcer for CBS introduced the Cowboys as America’s Team and the name stuck.
Dallas's Hall of Fame coach Tom Landry originally did not approve of the appellation of America's Team. He felt that it would give opposing teams extra incentive to play harder. Eventually he gave in and actually came to like the name.

All of you are so quick to judge these players, but have no basis to make any real judgement. I'd like to come to each and every one of your offices and critique every single move you make. I'd like to critize you for every fight you get in with your spouse, or every meeting you've been late for. I want to be able to tell you how fat and digusting most of you are because all you do is sit on the computer and on your couches and play video games and think you know something about football. Just because you can muster up enough strength to change the channel, while simultaneously shoving a handful of cheetos in your mouth, does not make you a football expert.
Some of you want to talk about leadership? Odds are you can't even lead a phone call, much less a NFL game with 100,000 people in the stadium, and an entire nation watching. You couldn't lead your way out of a wet paper bag.
There are those who are going to say I'm just defending Romo, but reality is I'm talking about all athletes out there. Yes, they are in the spotlight. Yes, they know what they're getting in to. And yes, some even deserve SOME of the grief. For those who are out there working hard, not shooting themselves, not dog fighting, not hitting people with their cars, not doing drugs, back off.
Sad thing is if and when Dallas whens a Super Bowl, all these sports writers, and fans who don't support Romo now will suddenly be his biggest fan. Everyone wants to be on the winning team, and there are very few who will take a step back and say, "I was wrong".
