Chiefs safety Page placed on injured reserve

  • Print

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP)—Jarrad Page(notes), a three-year starter at free safety, has been placed on injured reserve by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Page was not at practice on Monday and coach Todd Haley said he had been injured during practice last Thursday. Haley said he might have more to say about the situation on Wednesday. The Chiefs announced the roster move on their Web site Wednesday.

The Chiefs also said they had signed free agent cornerback Travis Daniels(notes). He attended training camp with the Chiefs this year but was released before the season began. He made 26 starts with Miami from 2005-07.

Page has made 39 starts since he was taken in the seventh round in 2006.

If you look through the Chiefs’ roster the names of the players bring back exciting memories from last year. If they could of played every game like the did the Broncos game, wouldn’t that of been great! It sounds like they are starting to practice as a team. My opinion TG was just an outlet. Having him there was just a dump off, not making the QB’s think about really surveying the rest of the field. If every player went out on the field with a mission, they would be more then an 8-8 team. Larry Johnson will be on a mission following Mike Cox, a real Full Back, not a Wide Receiver in the backfield. I don’t understand why some are saying there are no receivers. Who wouldn’t want Dwayne Bowe? Mark Bradley, Bobby Engram, Jeff Webb, Larry Johnson.

I don’t know what your name is, but I didn’t hear anybody’s name called that wasn’t on the roster. So I am sure you didn’t make any catches let alone Touch Downs. So have another beer.

Look at the Play Makers on Defense. They just need direction and they seem to be getting it. These guys are exciting players at times. It will all come together

Barring what anyone else thinks, I am excited to see the Chiefs Defense come back on the field. With Brandon Carr, Jarrad Page. Bernard Pollard, and my favorite Brandon Flowers, there are going to be some Defense scoring going on!

    GO CHIEFS!!!

Hey Oscar, i'm with you. I myself grew up in Socal with the rams, going back to the days of Roman Gabriel, jack Snow, and the Fearsome Foursome, and was a KC Chiefs fan all the while. My son and I fly to KC every year to see a game, picking different opponents to see, this year being the Dallas game. I have seen teams rebuild the way the Chiefs are going about it, and YES, they ARE on the right track. Last years team, although young, didnt have the veteren leadership that Vrabel and Thomas will bring. Yes, they are towards the end of their careers, but those are the type of players needed while recruiting. Plus, with a new heiarchy in place, 6-8 wins will be a very good season for us.

NGUYEN: Definitely, yes, if they go 8-8 in Haley's first year as Head Coach, it will be a whale of a season. I honestly believe going 6-10 (tripling last year's win total) will be a solid first year.
I think the Coach feels differently. This guy is very competitive and sees no reason why the team can't compete for playoffs immediately. He doesn't like excuses---making them or hearing them.
    I like his style.

KC will be an average team this season since they had added some veteran players.. DEFENCE will be the key this season...can they stop anyone that they facing???... OFFence will be ok i think.. KC will be 8-8 would be sucessful season...Don't you all agree with me on this ??

Thomas and Vrable will give stability and leadership to a defense that was just awful under Herman Edwards. Guys like Zach Thomas offer experience and can keep a young defense together when times get tough, as they will be this year. I think Cassell will show that he was no fluke, even with the great New England system he worked in. I'm not saying the Chiefs are a playoff team, or even a .500 team, but they're putting some of the right pieces in place to end the horrible disaster of the last couple seasons.

They have made some good moves, but are taking a big risk at QB. If Cassel isn't at least average, they will be lucky to win 4. If that happens, there are some good ,talented QB's to be had in next years draft. They will need to get one of them.

Jimmy Workman holds the record for fastest pinfall in Wrestling history. He is the fearless leader of TME the devastating Cage fighting team. HE is a Auto guru and a Farmer.

He is also a chiefs fan. Jimmy thinks Page is pretty good, but jimmy ran a 4.2 40 yard dash when he was younger and jimmy is white.

If you like popcorn and a bacon double cheesebuger..... your o.k. in jimmy's book.

Jimmy also owns Slappy Magertey the world famous fighting Cow. Slappy is undefeated and a fat @#$%.

Jimmy will someday be famous world wide. Today he is only famous in NCK and Vegas.

its a great time to be a chiefs fan. im cautiously optimistic. trust me, it was very hard to be a fan last year but i was and always will be. its better than being a fair-weather fan like some teams have.

I live in Texas and I am a life long Miami Dolphin fan, the Chiefs signing of free agent Zack Thomas was a good add to their team. I am just a little upset that Miami didn't bring him back to let him finish off his carrer where he started and played for so many years, like they did with Jason Taylor. As a Dolphin fan I will tell you it does look like the chiefs are going to be a good contender this year with all new players they got this off season. I will always look at Zack Thomas as one of the faces of the Miami Dolphin greats and I think that after he retires that Miami should retire his number "54"

Chiefs secondary is looking pretty good, the front 3 are the biggest questions on the defense now. If they can get that figured out I'm feeling pretty optimistic about the future of KC.
