Jauron: Bills LBs Mitchell, Buggs out for season

  • Print

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP)—Buffalo Bills coach Dick Jauron says middle linebackers Kawika Mitchell(notes) and Marcus Buggs(notes) will miss the rest of the season because of knee injuries.

They were hurt in a 6-3 loss to Cleveland on Sunday and Jauron says both require surgery.

Mitchell was carried from the field after hurting his right knee early in the second quarter when he was hit by two Browns linemen while trying to make a tackle.

Buggs injured his left leg covering on a punt return late in the third quarter.

Starting middle linebacker Paul Posluszny(notes) missed a fourth game with a broken left arm and the game was the second straight without starting safeties Donte Whitner(notes) (right thumb) and Bryan Scott(notes) (ankle).

The Bills (1-4) play Sunday at the New York Jets (3-1).

As a Bills fan I think I am justified in saying ^%!@%$!#%!$*!@%&$*$!!!

They look even worse than I thought they would when the Buffalo hired Jauron. He looks almost as lost on the sideline as Mangini does... and Mangini just beat him. The Bills seem to play almost to the level of their competion each week, we almost beat the Patriots and then ALMOST beat the Browns (are you serious!?) Christ this is horrible. I'm all for axing Jauron but I'm affraid any new coach, even Jake (my parent's Jack Russell terrier), could win enough games to destroy any chance we have at the first pick over all in the 2010 draft.

Sure the injuries don't help, but for f*ck sake, this is football everybody has injuries... they just seem to be f*cking clueless... my favorite moment Sunday was not having our punt return team on the field at the end of the 3rd quarter, wasting a time out that would have been handy to have at the end of the game!? Nice job!!! @$#%^&(@#%^%^&(@#_%^!!!!

I was unfortunate enough to be in attendance for the last bills blunder. The way that team is playing is a disgrace to the city of Buffalo. Until Jauron gets the axe, the bills are going to continue playing like a bunch of uninspired babies. At this point I am actually looking forward to TO erupting...at least then us fans will have something to get excited about.

Trent, Dick, and the dicks on the O-Line need to take a boat ride over the falls. Time for a new QB and a new system. I feel bad for Lee Evans having to play in Buffalo; derailed his career.

Amid all of this, the Bills held an(ok, sucky) NFL team to 3 points without half of it's starting D. Now what's the offense' excuse? Anything at all out of the offense and they'd have 3 or 4 wins.

I am a die hard Bills fan ; but someone has to light a fire under these guys. There is no sense of urgency . We need to make something happen now and go play like the good team that we are . There is absolutely no way we should have lost to the Browns. It's going to be a long week for me.

So, your coaches name is "Dick." Man, at least call him "Richard." Poor Bills. Suddenly 8-8 isn't looking so bad for us in Dallas. :( AND..u still have the eventual TO melt down to look forward to. Just keep the prescription meds away from him..

Darn, I thought that was a comma and not a colon in the headline. Maybe this was another typo from lack of proofreading and should read, "Jauron, Bills LBs Mitchell, Buggs out for season"

    All I can say is--
it's starting to feel like a 2-14 season all over!
TO has brought poison to every team he played on and now we get to drink of the evil liquid for who knows how long!
I will still cheer for them and cry when they lose--and wish with all my red white and sorta blue blood that we come out of this season without the first draft pick!

Ralpk Wilson is 4 days from 91 years of age. Do you really think you can take your team and fortune with you when you check out of this world? I've never seen a Hurst pulling a U-Haul! Make a move here before the trade deadline and revitalize your fans and organization. Make a move for a QB and a Head Coach. Sorry Trent, I like you as a person, but you are not getting it done on the field. If I was not performing at my job, I'd be out the door. What's the difference? The difference is you are making millions and I am still in the 5 digit income family. Russ Brandon, could you step up and do your job! Make a trade for Vick! Make a move for Bill Cowher and let's get rolling. Get Jim Kelly in the box with Van Pelt and let's use the 6 Million dollar man and the 9 Million dollar Evans to our advantage. Not to mention the most under utilized player in the game, Roscoe Parrish. What's the alternative? Hope for the first pick in the draft? Nope sorry, that's going to someone else! Ralph....POO POO or get off the Pot!

the bills are having too many injuries, in addition to the 3 LB's and 2 safeties named above, Leodis McKelvin and James Hardy are also hurt. Thats 3/4 of the starting secondary and all of your mlb depth

I am a huge bills fan and i just dont understand why we are not more successful. Of course Edwards needs to take more shots down field. It is ridiculous how we put no fear in other teams secondary. We may need to look at the back-up QB for a spark! And does Juaron need to be fired to get us going???????????

since edwards concussion,he looks like hes scared of his own shadow,he lacks leadership, and the rest of the nfl knows this including his teammates and himself.without drastic changes...(coaching and players)...NO HOPE,SORRY theres no darrell tally to fire up this team.get ready for the same excuses on how we need to look at the film on monday and learn from that.when are people going to talk the truth instead of beating around the bush and just come out and say they suck

Posting #2, Budman, I agree with you, the Bills season is not over, they are still competive. This teams history is based off being "Resilent "( key word). No matter how many offensive lineman or defensive players the Bills lost, they are still competing. The Bills need to establish the running game to set up the pass, change the Turk Shounert plays to crossing routes, deep routes and play action fake, not only involve T.O. in the playbook, get Lee Evans some passes. The man runs a 4.39 in the 40, his speed alone make cornerbacks cautious. I still think this team will make the wild card playoffs, but they need to stay focused , win on the road and beat a playoff team to make a statement. Let me give you a history lesson, every free-agent WR over the age 30 the Bills picked up, we went to playoffs (example Frank Lewis '80-'81, James Lofton '88-'94, Billy Brooks '93-94, Quinn Early '95). Once again, the season is not over.

Its gonna be tough without these key players. Atleast they'll be playing against a second year quarterback this week. Hopefully, they can generate some pressure with the depth players. Go Bills, Go Bills, Go Bills, Go Bills, Go Bills, Go Bills!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
