Bills’ Owens ready to play Sunday against Titans

  • Print

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP)—Buffalo Bills receiver Terrell Owens(notes) returned to practice Friday and declared himself ready to play in Sunday’s game at Tennessee.

Owens said he fell asleep on his couch Monday night after practice, and woke up feeling stiff the next morning. He was held out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday, and the team said he had a strained hip.

“Earlier in the week it was painful, but I knew I would be ready,” said Owens, who is officially listed as questionable. “My couch is very comfortable, so it’s easy to fall asleep on. (But) I don’t know if it was the couch.”

Meanwhile, the Bills will be without three starters on defense—linebacker Keith Ellison(notes) (quad), cornerback Terrence McGee(notes) (knee) and defensive tackle Kyle Williams (knee).

Defensive end Aaron Schobel(notes) (groin) and safety Donte Whitner(notes) (ankle) are both questionable. Rookie safety Jairus Byrd(notes) (groin), who is tied for the league-lead with seven interceptions, is probable.

    Seriously no team wants this guy for a reason,he just doesn't care about his team only about himself. He should just retire...he's like a turd that will not and refuses to go down no matter how many times you flush the toilet. ffflluusshh

    @workingonit21...

    Actually he did take a shot at not only the QB, but also the other receivers. I gues TO thinks that he is Alvin. He ain't as cute as that chipmonk.

    I do not care where your talent level is if you stop a team from playing as a team.

    Cutler is no better with the Bears, but at least, Cutler is looking to give the Bronco's a high draft pick.

    post #940 if Terrell Ownes played in Buffalo when Jim Kelly was playing there.. Terrell Owens would own all the NFL records and if you've payed any attention to the 2009 Buffalo Bills you'd know they've been in every game but one and lost late in games to the Texans, Saints, Patriots and Browns if those were wins they be 7-1 right now.. last time i checked 3/4 teams mentioned are in a playoff race.. the Buffalo Bills do have talent besides TO and if the dumb owner ever signed a great head coach the team would improve so fast you'd sh1t...

    Cowher, Gruden, Shannhan, Holgren or Shottenheimer are all available but the owner is too cheap and pathetic to fire Jauron and his lame @ss coaches and change the foundation to winning.. same as Jerry Jones in Dallas BTW the Cowboys haven't won a playoff game since 1996 and who is there coach? a former Buffalo Bill cheap coach Wade Phillips.. thank you bye bye

    Like TO or hate him you cannot blame this on him. The Bills a just plain horrible, the no O line at all that's why they can't keep a healthy quarterback. Any QB that goes there will be runnig for his dear life there no time to throw on had off the ball.

    TO = Tuned Out

    His Super Bowl record = 0-1 with Philly in 05.
    He came into the league in 1996 (one year after SF won their last Super Bowl)

    No disrespect post 915 "There are not enough "players" to win football games in Buffalo each and every week! "
    TO IS the team (according to him).
    Why do you think Dallas & Philly dumped him ?
    921 is right on the money.

    Sorry Buffalo but you team is SO bad at SO many positions that TO can't disrespect his favorite target (the quarterback of the team he currently plays with and EVERY quarterback he's ever played with).

    Put him with a decent quarterback and he put's up decent numbers, but he still gripes and is a cancer.

    He is finally in a system where there is not an established qb and look at his numbers/impact.

    I don't care if he is ranked 2nd in so many stats.
    He had the oppourtunity to play in SF when they were rolling with Young and Garcia, McNabb having his best seasons in Philly, and Romo in Dallas.

    If he'd played in Buffalo his entire career, he wouldn't be in the top 10 of ANY category.

    Yo Buffalo,
    Put away the pocorn and crack open that bottle of Jack Daniels...you're gonna need it.

    From TO's own mouth:
    "When you give a team a short field as I mentioned … Barney Fife and Alvin and the Chipmunks can go out there and score. It's like we have to at some point across the board take it personally to help this team out from an offensive standpoint. How do we get that done? Who knows?"

    —WR Terrell Owens, on the struggles of Buffalo's 29th-ranked offense.

    Wow, did he disrespect someone other than his qb with that remark ?
