Bengals sign DT Harris, waive OL Kooistra

CINCINNATI (AP)—The Bengals have re-signed defensive tackle Orien Harris(notes) and waived seventh-year guard Scott Kooistra(notes) to make room on the roster.

The team announced the moves on Tuesday.

Harris, a second-year player, is in his second stint with Cincinnati this season. He was signed on Oct. 20, played in one game and was waived on Nov. 17.

Kooistra appeared in three games this season on special teams.

Cincinnati also signed former Ohio State cornerback Antonio Smith to its practice squad.

The Bengals haven't had a decent all-around tight end since Rodney Holman. They drafted the Missouri kid this year, but he apparently hasn't learned how to block yet.

Too bad things didn't work out for Ben Utecht with the Bengals. I don't believe the Colts are going to take him back, so maybe he can go to the Lions next and reunite with Dylan Gandy, Jason David and John Standeford, his teammates when the Colts won Super Bowl XLI. I don't think the Bengals have anyone on their roster with any Super Bowl winning experience, now. Oh, well. GO BLUE!!!

Maybe the problem wasn't the 200lb recievers hit, but the 240lb linebacker's glass jaw!

Tired of hearing it! When Palmer got injured in the playoff game it was by a former Bengal. Kimo Van Olsomething had been a Bengal for a long time and was only in his first or second year in Pitt. He had a lot of friends on the team and Palmer was one of them. When he got up after the play he was trying to get someone's attention because he knew Palmer was hurt. Also if you watch the video (going off memory here cause I haven't seen it in awhile) he was either pushed into Palmer or was trying to get his momentum out of the way. Palmer had just made the throw and his knee was still locked from the delivery. It was an accident-get over it!!

Hines Ward-Keith Rivers on the other hand...

Big Bengals fan, by the way. Pittsburgh is Cincy's beotch this year!!

    Hey Guys,

Grow up! It's only a game! My team's better than your team ... wah, wah, wah! Who cares? Listen to yourselves. Big tough men wannabes! Are any of you real sportsmen? Try making sense when you post, without all the stupid name calling. And God forbid, please use a spell check! I have friends and relatives that live in different parts of the country and they all root for different teams. We don't treat each other with hatred just because we patronize different teams. It's called sportsmanship. Ever hear of the word? Quit acting like a bunch of tough guys. Your actually a bunch of cyber-tough guys hiding behind a computer. Sort of like the guy in a souped up truck with the huge tires, revving up his engine like DE Jr. with the big ole #8 on his rear window..... Vrooom! Vrooom! p.s. Nobody cares about your truck and you look rediculous to others! I'll bet you had no clue.

Now carry on and try to discuss your issues in an intelligent and civil way. The Bengals have a great team this year. They're having fun and they're gelling as a team. Congratulations to Cincy for a better than expected first half of the season. The Steelers have been consistently tough over the years, and are once again, one of the most feared teams in the league. The 2008 Super Bowl Champs are healthy and back in contention this year.

    Go Bengals!
    Go to H... Steelers!

I guess all the Bungles fans here have a right to spout off about their great team given all the Lombardi trophies that they have won. Oh, wait, they haven't won any. Haha. Losers.

Hey, post 27, the Bengals haven't been tested? Didn't they also beat Baltimore? Didn't they lose on a fluke play to Denver? And Green Bay isn't like playing the Buccaneers, either. It's a long season and anyone can beat anyone. They did beat your CHUMPS. Maybe the Steelers will win at home, where they DO get ALL the calls, maybe not.
And post 11, MAYBE they will 5 games if everything goes perfect?? They have that now and they still haven't played the RAIDERS!!

Whether or not a penalty flag was thrown, it was a cheap shot. Even the player who took Palmer out got up looking for a penalty flag to have been thrown. Besides, we have seen enough blown calls or non-calls to know that the officials either miss some things or just don't care. Yet, let someone like Tom Brady get hurt and all of a sudden the league is all over new rules to protect the quarterback.

One other comment, about last year's Super Bowl. All the television announcers were all over the review at the end of the first half as to whether or not the player made it into the end zone. There was no doubt that he was in. What they, and, obviously the officials, didn't review is whether or not he stepped out of bounds about ten yards before he got there. I thought he did and the touchdown shouldn't have counted. Maybe if the officials had reviewed that part of the play, there would have been a definitive answer. Maybe I, for one, would have seen that I was wrong, that the player did not step out of bounds. Maybe not.

I was at the play-off game between Pittsburg and Cincinnati when Palmer got hurt. Yes it was a very cheap shot, penalty or no penalty. The guy purposely rolled into Palmer. Palmer in, the Steelers lose. And by the way, it was soooo fun to yell at the end of the Bengals vs. Pittsburg game this year in the jungle "where are all the yellow towels now?" Bengals will probably beat Rapeherburger and the rest of the Stealers again when they meet up in 2 weeks. HA, they weren't ready, lame excuse.
