Bears’ Tommie Harris ejected

  • Print

CHICAGO (AP)—Chicago Bears defensive tackle Tommie Harris(notes) was ejected from Sunday’s game against Arizona after just 65 seconds of play for slugging Cardinals offensive tackle Deuce Lutui(notes).

At the end of an Arizona running play, Harris and Lutui ended up on the ground and a replay showed Harris hitting Lutui near the face.

The Bears got a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and Harris got a quick shower after referee Ed Hochuli announced he had slugged Lutui and was ejected.

Post 87, that's just cruel. Tommie hasn't exactly earned a gold star for his contributions since that massive financial incentive we gave him, but sending him to Oakland? That's harsh. I'd play on Satan's football team before I played for Oakland's.

Post #95 maybe you should shut up until you understand the game. What the heck is an "intersection?" Is there a highway on the field? Did you mean interception? You said "make a snap," do you mean take a snap or play a snap, or are you defending Bears long-snapper Patrick Mannelly, not Tommie Harris? Tell your "family member" to tackle someone during a play, maybe even a quarterback sack from time to time, and stop sneering, posturing and then running away from the media after bad games. But one point I can see about you standing up to defend him; maybe he'll write you check or pay your rent or buy you a car...for being such a loyal family member.

I think a roster with both black and white men is important for the Bears.....If we ignore a weak offensive line, weak defensive line, no NFL running game and knocked up LBs.....they look pretty good........Tommie Harris needs to run some laps.....throwing arm bars on the fourth play of the game? This AZ game was the worst I ever saw........gives confidence to a mediocre AZ team who think they are good now.....I think that Boise State is looking for a game............I hope the Bears get a reminder from the 49ers Coach this Thursday of what playing with football heart is all about......we are looking at 6-10 this year unless things improve....geeze...

Greeting Bears Critics, to those of you who have something negative to say concerning my family member Tommie Harris #91. I say to you all our family motto is MAKE YOUR HATERS YOUR MOTIVATORS!!!! AND until you yourself get on the field and make a snap, sack, intersection or play for that matter shut the Hell up!!! im tired of people with nothing better to do than judge and criticize get a life, dream, goal, aspiration of your own and fulfill it. Enough said he will continue to stack his paper while ya'll keep running your mouths!!!!

#75 nailed it. I have wanted TH gone for a year. He got the big contract after 3 stellar years, then precedes to:

    1) knock up his 18 yr old girlfriend
    2) pull a temper tantrum because his buddy got cut from the team (another useless OKL wr)
    3) get benched for poor attitude (since then, yep, happened again vs Cincy).

The best thing we can do, because he ain't getting better, is trade him after the season to a team with a hight draft pick and lousy judgement (hellllloooooo Oakland). We can turn the pick into something....maybe another Tommie Harris when he was hungry and not over paid.

God I'm sick of this guy. I can't be the only Bears fan that feels this way.

As a. Former teammate(high school), classmate, and neighbor of TJ, I can be one of the first to tell you that this was NOT typical behavior of him. Say what you want, but I believe he was basically the "second guy" which is always the one who gets caught. It's unfortunate, but he deserved his ejection. Football is a violent sport, where emotions run very high and can get the best of anybody, no matter who you are. O agree that his actions were classless and uncalled for, but they in no way represent his character. This man is very talented, and one of the most gentle players in the NFL. What he made was a mistake. That's it.
