NFL star Lawrence Taylor arrested in Fla. crash

MIAMI (AP)—Former football star Lawrence Taylor has been released on bond following his arrest in a Miami-area traffic accident.

According to Miami-Dade County jail records, Taylor was charged Sunday with leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, a second-degree misdemeanor. He was released on $500 bond later that night. It was not immediately clear if Taylor has an attorney.

A Florida Highway Patrol spokesman says Taylor was involved in a hit-and-run crash Sunday in Hialeah. Taylor told investigators he thought he had hit a guard rail. There were no injuries and troopers didn’t conduct a sobriety test.

Taylor is a former New York Giants linebacker. He was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 1999. He also competed in ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” this year.

    the Williams knew what they were taking was illegal but the bonus they were trying to get for being below a certain weight in there contract was worth the risk from them. i think the nfl should lighten up on some of the things they make illegal for the nfl, if u can buy it at gnc it should be legall

    394 Ron is a idiot.....since you know so much about Google, why don't you look up the rest of the facts about the case. The Williams have never tested positive for steroids. the banned substance was not on the label. It was an over-the-counter diet pill that wasn't properly labeled. That means thousands of teenage girls and boys trying to lose a few pounds were taking a dangerous supplement. This isn't just about the NFL. Starcaps were available to everybody. The FDA should be ashamed of themselves and Goodell needs to move on and solve the bigger problem.

    He hit a guardrail. How is that leaving the scene of accident with property damage? It wasnt another car or a pedestrian. It was a friggin guardrail.

    JBurna has a point....although I think it is probably less than 99.9% that would have fled the scene....maybe 80% of you out there.

    There was a case here in the Phoenix area where 3 young guys were chasing another guy at night. (Understand,when I say chasing I mean running after him). They chased the guy into the street. The guy gets run over by 4 cars! Only 1 of those cars stopped! The rest just ran off! If that doesn't give you a disappointing look at human nature, I don't know what does.

    This guy is not even playing anymore. How about a follow up on active players with pending suspensions for the league's substance abuse policy? Like Pat Williams and Kevin Williams the defensive linemen for the Vikings. Both got 4 game suspensions but are allowed to play because of legal filings to make it dissappear. These two losers were caught taking something called Starcaps loaded with a diuretic masking agent that is banned by the league.

    So let me get this straight lou, Harry Carson was drivin the car with L.T. and crashed into the lite pole, the lite pole was standing next to, you guessed it the friggen house that Jack built. Then John Riggins trucked Harry Carson and L.T. to get to the Superbowl, right? I guess this is what your trying to say...

    I always had the utmost respect for L.T. even though I am a skins fan. Dan Snyder made it easy for me not to focus on the burgundy and gold for the last umpteen years. L.T. was suspended for drug use twice during his playing years that I remember. Wow you think someone out there could connect the dots or something. An average Joe wouldn't have been given such a free pass. He was arrested but he's getting off because they didn't do a sobriety test. Man I hope I do my job so well, so when I retire I can get drunk and flipped on cocaine and crash in to everything not moving and the cops will say, "we got to arrest you but your gettin the freebee dude, can you sign my jock strap for me, I'm wearing it"? "Marge is gonna be so happy when I show her"... They can make an example with Michael Vick but L.T. is old school so he gets the Escalade. Dude this is wrong.
