Yesterday was 'Manning Day'? No one told me!

I need a new calendar. This thing I have right now lists a bunch of unimportant holidays like St. Patrick's Day, Arbor Day, Independence Day and Christmas, but it made absolutely no mention of "Manning Day", and now, the moment has passed.

Had I known, I'd have celebrated like any good Manning-fearing American ... by dressing up as my favorite Manning (I prefer Olivia) and licking the middle of Oreo cookies until my tongue bleeds. Here's the report from Mississippi:

Archie Manning, a former New Orleans Saints quarterback, and Eli spent time after the ceremony signing autographs. They were treated like the celebrities they are in Mississippi with politicians jockeying for position with staffers to have footballs, hats and even scraps of paper off their desks autographed.

Dozens of school children on a tour of the Capitol sat in the visitors' balcony during the ceremony. Both Mannings received standing ovations and Eli was congratulated on his recent move to Oxford, making him the only member of the immediate family to actually still live in the state.

Peyton couldn't make it because he was playing golf with Tiger Woods. Seriously. The man had to wake up yesterday and decide between heading to the state capitol to celebrate a day named in his honor, or going out to play 18 holes with Tiger Woods. Decisions like that, I am rarely called upon to make.

Anyway, I'd like to wish all of you a belated Happy Manning Day. And for those who don't celebrate, I'll see you next month at the Festival of Brady.

The Giants said Eli wants to get traded. Expect the Giants to consider several offers before ultimately sitting down with the quarterback to smooth things over.

Better a Manning day than a TO day!! At least the Mannings have some class and give back to the community. I'd take a round of golf with Tiger over a day in Mississippi too!

    Onik,
Where do you get your information? Eli will be a Giant until he retires [moron]. You must be a brainwashed liberal that posts comments in your basement in your underwear. Am I right?
    Fawn,
I'm much better looking than Peyton and I have a much bigger nose than him. You know what they say? Big Nose, Big ???? How 'bout it?

I agree with the poster that said every day was Manning day at my house. The true ultimate first family of football. And yes, there are other things to do in Mississippi but we enjoy showing appreciation to those who deserve it, such as the Mannings.

it was proven that the pats were video taping get over it they lost the superbowl and the defensive captians got speakers in there helmets. pats got what they diserved and look what happend the first game of the season...Brady diddnt know what the defense was and got sacked and was out for the season get over that video stuff all thats left is that the pats are stripped of there superbowl titles and brady gets his mvp taken away. tiger chills with peyton cause he is a cool humble guy not with brady cause bradys a self obsessed prick.

I'm glad in these tough economic times. The "idiotic politicians" of Mississippi have realized they have nothing better to do than celebrate Manning day.
Good thing Manning snubbed them. How about focusing on problems in the state. Or is the state perfect lol

What does one wear to a Manning Day event - football cleats and a white sheet?
