Which NFL teams are getting the primetime love?

I've counted up the number of national television games (including Thursday nights, a Saturday game, Thanksgiving games, Sunday night games, and Monday night games), and here's how it breaks down:

Six National Games:
Dallas Cowboys

Five National Games
:
Steelers
Browns
Eagles

Four National Games:
Patriots
Colts
Packers
Bears

Three National Games:
Jaguars
Chargers
Broncos
Giants
Saints
Two National Games:
Jets
Ravens
Titans
Raiders
Redskins
Vikings
Buccaneers
Seahawks
Cardinals

One National Game:
Bills
Bengals
Texans
Lions
Panthers
49ers

Zero National Games:
Dolphins
Chiefs
Falcons
Rams

Quick reactions:

• The freaking Bears get four games? Awesome. Four times this year, our undivided attention will be on the Grossman/Orton/Griese double-headed suckmonster. Outstanding.

• I thought the Dolphins might get at least a little bit of early-season shine. The involvement of Bill Parcells makes them intriguing, and early on, people might want to tune in and get a look at the #1 overall draft pick. Nope.

• I'd like to thank the schedule-makers for keeping the Brodie Croyle-led Chiefs, and the possibly Chris Redman-led Falcons out of primetime. That's a beneficent and merciful decision.

• The TV people are absolutely sold on the Browns, it appears. The Steelers and Eagles each getting five games isn't a surprise, as they're consistently a good TV draw, even if the teams aren't very good, but the Browns? Checking in with more games than the Patriots or Colts? Color me surprised.

• I'm a little disappointed that the Packers get four games, too. Aaron Rogers won't be able to hide, and I've got a hunch that in those broadcasts, there might be some talk about Brett Favre. They probably won't overdo it, though.

first off i would like to say whoever made the NFL schedule needs to be fired immediately. The schedule is horrible. The bears has 4 primetime games? then how do the patriots get the easiest schedule? Then the Eagles come in last place in their division and still get one of the hardest schedules? Theres a conspiracy and if the Eagles dont go to the superbowl or close to a superbowl then im going to sue the NFL.

and another thing, what happened to the annual match up of the Eagles vs Packers? That is like a traditional game and it is exciting. Whoever did the schedules had to be drunk because the schedule is just so screwed up

Why would anyone want to see cheating go on more than 4 times this year.Anyway Goofdell wants them to keep alow key untill the whole thing blows over then he will take care of his pat boys and hopes none of the non Pat fans will say anything.

I find the schedule exciting! It doesn't matter what the NFL does it always works! It's the greatest league in the world! I can't wait to watch the Bears suck all over national TV and Aaron Rogers to lead the Pack to the playoffs to help everyone move on after Favre! The Browns are a very intresting team and the Colts, Cowgirls, and Patriots are showcased as they should be. I can't wait till week 1. Go Pack!

Actually, the Bears have 5 national primetime games, and Griese is no longer on the team.

How can you complain about the schedule? It is pre-determined who each team will play at the end of each season. Your team's division plays one full division in it's own conference, one full division in the opposite conference(these rotate each year). Your team plays each division foe twice. Your team will play one team from each of the two remaining divisions in it's own conference. If your team finished 1st, they will play the teams that finished 1st in those divisions. So, the 1st and last place team in any division will play the exact same schedule, with the exception of 2 games. That's how it is.

all you people who complaining about the bears having 4 prime time games just settle down the bears have the 2nd biggest following in the NFL and their market is huge so the guys that make the schedule know how to get the most viewers

Did this guy double check his facts? I just took a quick look, and I see the Cowboys have 6 nationally televised games. Three Sunday Night games, one Monday night game, one Saturday night game, plus Thanksgiving. Where the heck did he come up with 4?

As far as the eagles having the toughest schedule, I believe it. That's what happens when your the only team in the division that sucks.

You guys are morons. It's not a random schedule at all. 6 games verse the division (alternating home/away). 4 games against 1 division from the other conference (playing every team, 2 home, 2 away), 4 games against 1 division from their own conference (playing every team, 2 home, 2 away), and two game against teams in the conference that finished in the same place in their division (excludes the 3rd team because they are already playing them). Every team plays every other team in the NFL at least once every 4 years.

Man, this guy is semi-retarded. Not only does Dallas have 6 nationally televised games, but both San Diego and Indy each have 5 night games. Talk about rushing to put up a story without double checking facts. What a tool.

kevin i would shut the hell up if i were you. The Eagles are one of the most hated teams in the NFL and the reason for that is that we are consistently a good team. And this year we are big favorites to get to the superbowl. The Eagles only need a WR and then we are set. Trust me, the Eagles do not suck and that is exactly why we have so many primetime games.

Jimmy you are stupid though, the Packers couldn't play the Eagles this year because the NFL schedule is a predetermined formula as others have said above

patriots have a easy schuedule because there opponents were decided about 6-9 years ahead of time minus division leaders, so yeah they aren't doing Patriots favors, and Patriots should have more then 4 games on prime time, they were the best team despite losing a super bowl.
