I didn't think it would happen so soon, but Vince Young can get his fragile psyche on the field today. He won't be replacing Kerry Collins, but head coach Jeff Fisher does have a "package" set up for him, so if circumstances dictate, Vince could see the field today.
As a fan, I believe today will be the first time I'll have had to watch a guy play, while thinking that any negative play might cause him to want to kill himself. I don't have a particular favorite in the game, but if I end up having to pull for the Ravens defense for fantasy purposes, it could get awkward. Do I want a couple of sacks or interceptions if it means Vince Young goes home and locks himself in the garage with the car running?
Something else that concerns me: NFL defenders are notorious for attacking known injuries. If you've been struggling with an ankle problem, someone's going to step with it. Broken finger? It'll be grabbed and squeezed in the pile. Will defenders attack VY's emotional state? After a play, would Bart Scott walk by him and whisper something like, "Life isn't worth living," or, "There's an easy way out of this, you know."
It's could be an awkward game-watching experience.
