One of the best plays from the NFL's lackluster Week 17 was one that wasn't made at all.
On a goal-line stand, Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu(notes) made one of his patented Superman-like leaps over the line of scrimmage in an attempt to stuff the Cleveland Browns ball carrier. Polamalu ended up just missing the tackle, but the way he flew over both lines and seemed to hang frozen in mid-air for a split second is worth a watch:
As my Yahoo! blog colleague/pal Scott Pianowski Tweeted earlier, "Troy Polamalu is the rare example of a ridiculously-hyped player who lives up to it. He's just as good as the [mainstream media] says he is."
