Tony Sparano doesn't seem like a player's coach

I understand that it's not the job of a football coach to be a warm and friendly ambassador of smiley faces, but it does seem like we're in an era of more player-friendly coaches. And if that is the case, then just call Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano a contrarian.

He seems like a high school football coach ... the kind who spends all day teaching Drivers Ed to the dumb kids, sending half his paycheck to his ex-wife every month, and having dinner out of a bottle.

But I guess when you go 1-15, any approach can be justified. If Sparano had Jake Long hanging upside down from the field goal posts and was beating him with a leather strap, he could say, "We were 1-15 last year, gentlemen," and I'd have to say, "Well I guess you've got a point there."

Can't blame him. We don't need players ending up like that sissy crybaby Brett Favre.

MJD is a sissy. Really? Player friendly coaches? This and all of your other blog entries make you sound like one of the 5'6" 150 lb girls who always wanted to play football but didn't have the kill, talent or size so you now make a living whining about it and telling real players and coaches what they should do. You probably secretly hate football and get your jollies from mens ice skating and womens softball. I bet you voted for Hillary in the primary too huh?

What a tool, if that's what qualifies as a head coach, sign me up.

I know it sounds stupid, but Sparano's name and personality BOTH remind me of Tony Soprano.
