Their sweat brings out the optimist in us

Training camp is a magical time of year. For many fans, it will turn out to be the highlight of the season. Local sports sections in every NFL city are bursting with sunshine and roses. Your widely-mocked quarterback? Finally coming into his own! Your anonymous 6th round draft choice? Impressing the hell out of the coaches! The new defense your team is installing? Will revolutionize the league!

It's all horse doo-doo, as you'll find out in Week 1 when your team loses 56-3 and your quarterback is the same interception machine he's been all his career.

But you don't know that at the time. You'll let yourself believe anything in late June. That's what makes it feel so warm and fuzzy.

And today we celebrate the first day of July, the month that hosts the opening of NFL training camps. Here's a convenient list of training camp reporting dates, via NFL.com.

Raiders have too many weapons??? Like what brass knuckles, 9 mm guns, and knives because those are the only weapons anyone in the league would fear when stepping on the field with the pathetic Raiders.

And you're basing this opinion on what, Frosty? One good year by your running back? Your nonexistent passing game, your terrible QB, or the overpaid free agent you signed to monstrous money? I mean seriously.
When was the last time that MN actually posted decent years back to back? Probably the last time that Chicago did the same thing. Hate to break it to you though, but MN hasn't been squat since Randy left town.
They need a QB, then need some WRs, they need to have more than one year with AP as their starting running back, and he needs to prove he can do what he did last year again before people start annointing him the savior of the franchise.

Brett Favre needs to stay retired! He is already on the Madden 09 cover and lord knows what that jinx will do for the rest of his career. Yes the Raiders do have too many weapons, but they keep shooting blanks or keep stabbing themselves, but what can you expect from those losers? God help us if the NFL promotes those flippin Patriots more then they did last year! You have to admit the NFL was their biggest cheerleader, so I do owe the Giants for taking care of that squashed dream...THANK YOU!!!

Yeah, I'm a Bills fan. And I'm ready for some football, even though I know it's going to be another rebuilding year full of disappointment.
