Last night, CBS talked to a researchers at the Brooke Army Medical Center who found that NFL helmets are way better at preventing concussions than the standard issue military helmets. They're not very good at stopping bullets, though.
So the plan is to take the interior padding from the NFL helmets, stuff it into the military helmets and hope that gives our men and women in the military a little better concussion prevention, while also keeping out those pesky bullets. Hooray for innovation.
I still say that any helmet used in the military or in the NFL looks better with a single bar, though.
