The Madden '10 intro video does not help offseason patience

Say what you want about EA Sports, but they know how to pound out an intro video. Here's what you'll see when you slip the Madden '10 disc into your Xbox 360 on August 14th.

ARRRRRGH. Man, that makes me feel like crushing someone's face. Or, alternately, it makes me feel like getting all excited, ordering some more chicken wings and then sitting back comfortably while I watch someone crush someone else's face on television.

It makes me excited for football, is what I'm trying to say. Whether it's Madden on August 14th, or the regular season on September 10th, I just got a little less patient.

i feel like that is a pretty weak intro. It's nothing but a bunch of Fitzgerald/Polomalu clips.
Of course I'm still excited as usual for the season, but this intro doesn't do anything for me. When I start up the game I'll be skipping this and get right to playing.

I, too, was reminded of Pirates of the Caribbean. And I didn't really get pumped up by it. Nike commercials kick this thing's arse.

Not a big fan of the video. I think if i really like one of the two guys in the movie, I'd maybe be more excited. Does any one else remember the madden 96 intro. It was like a rap or something. That was cool.

I agree with the first post...there are 30 other teams in this game. What if both the Cardinals and the Steelers miss the playoffs, the intro video will become a laughing stock come December.

I agree, EA is hyping a couple of players instead of the action. I am willing to bet that more than 90% of the fans could care less who is on the cover let alone an intro video. Bring on the game and real Madden action instead of an NFL films season recap.

Completely agree with #1. That intro was really lame and about as exciting as last year's version, which didn't have one at all. Guess we can count on Polomalu and Fitzgerald to suffer year ending injuries and a season spent on the IR. The Madden curse lives on.

I really wish people had the discipline to Boycott Madden 10 and hold off in buying it until EA agrees to actually make a GOOD football game. I was a huge fan since 92' but for the last six years they have consistently put dog crap in a plastic box with plastic wrap and called it a video game. I can't completely blame EA for their poor games it's the dumb ass fans that can't restrain themselves and not support the dog feces that is a Madden Video game.

I agree. madden has sucked so badly since like 02 maybe. the 90s was when it was the best. specially for Playstation.. now not so much. the game gets more and more fun. i turned on 09 yesterday and played exibition, it wasn;t even fun. guys were on 'repeat' after the play, spice it up and make it like how the old Video Game 'The Blitz' was, were you could interact with the players. that is how it should be! POWER TO THE FANS .. and PATRIOTS!

Im excited for madden 2010 even know the game has sucked since they went to the so called Next Gen format. It looks like they did make some good improvements this year. The one thing I dont get that everyone is excited about is the online franchise its such a big scam. There no players contracts no salary cap and you can trade but the cpu has no trade logic so you can trade Hank Basket for T.O. that a joke

O sthu ......................people madden9 was the same kind of intro...You have 2 of the best NFL player in thier respective positions. Unless you want to see a WR like Ward blowing up defence guys .
Doesnt matter anyway Madden is still pissed the Raiders lost in the playoffs to the Steelers and he will never give them the #s they deserve...Even after they won SB 40 ,next years madden made them lower then what they should be.
I do however think they should of had the 100 yrd int run back for a TD in there. As Kurt threw it straight to him.
