Brady
Quinn(notes), owner of a career 65.8 quarterback rating and all-around handsome devil,
is a safe bet to win the Browns starting quarterback job, according to a
league source quoted in Tony Grossi's Browns blog at the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
A snippet:
I recently spoke with someone I will identify as a league source. This person does not work for an NFL team but works with NFL teams and has a prominent name.
I asked, "Whom do you think will wind up starting at quarterback for the Browns?"
Without hesitation, the answer was, "Brady Quinn."
The person went on to say that the Browns had two "very substantial" trade offers for Quinn -- each involved a No. 1 draft pick -- and declined to trade him.
Since the source is unnamed, you can put as much stock in that as you'd like, though I do find the rumors of the rejected trade offers interesting. Quinn's name was out there a lot this offseason, especially in connection with attempted-but-failed three-way deals involving Jay Cutler(notes). So I don't find those claims difficult to believe.
It still seems like a bit of a raw deal for Derek Anderson(notes), though. People forget that he's still just 25 years old, and unlike Quinn, he's actually proven that he can play at a high level in the NFL, even if it was just for part of a season. He's awfully young and has an awful lot of upside to be glued to the bench even before training camp starts.
Gracias, The Huddle.

Thats why they dont win.....Keep both the QBs and then they might have something down the road,If they werent in the division they are in they might make the playoffs once in awhile.Maybe if they went to the nfc west they make the playoffs thats a weak division.

If he plays we will soon find out if he's "AS GOOD AS ADVERTISED".
He can only run the plays he's given ,and also with the players he has to work with.
Even "Big Ben" would have looked bad behind our offensive OFFENSIVE line. LOL !
"GO BROWNS !!"

**Having a big arm in today's NFL is not what it use to be. About 80% of the pass plays are under 20 yards. A big arm is only good for a Hail Mary.
****Brady is smart, accurate, good leader, he can scramble and he is a winner.
