Santonio Holmes celebrates Steelers win in a Michael Vick jersey

How did Santonio Holmes(notes) celebrate his 131 yard, one touchdown performance in the Pittsburgh Steelers season opening victory over the Tennessee Titans? By wearing a Michael Vick(notes) jersey, of course.

We're not sure which decision was more questionable for Mr. Holmes: Wearing a jersey (they're so 2002), wearing a jersey of another NFL team, wearing a jersey of another NFL team that happens to be cross-state rivals of the team you play for or wearing a jersey of a social pariah who plays on another NFL team that happens to be cross-state rivals of the team you play for.

But look at the bright side Steelers fans and dog lovers: At least Santonio was wearing something.

    I think it wouldnt matter what his team allows.Its like Troy and his hair do what makes you feel good and tell the others to blow ya.I dont care if he wears his birthday suit as long as he puts up them kind of #'s all year.Just call him Mr. Blunt Boy.....

    Santonio Holmes wearing a Michael Vick jersey, why is that considered an "ignorant act?" The man served federal time for his crimes did he not? It's just amazing how some people and mainly the media totally disregard people like Donte Stallworth who actually killed someone. We need to get our priorities straight.

    someone mentioned a Charles Manson jersey? The Funny thing is I have seen shirts (Charles angels and no not the old tv show) and I have seen people wearing them and in no way do i consider Vick to be close to his level or the other criminals you mentioned. I mean honestly if you had to be in a room with any of those people who would you pick. Charles Manson jersey? Adolf Hitler? O.J Simpson? Micheal Vick? hmmm.

    I mean its not horrible but man I'm sure the Steeler's origination isn' t very happy about it right now. I'm all for athletes supporting vick but don't wear another team jersey that plays the same sport you do. Not smart! Go Bengals! I know we suck but "F" off

    Stupid motherufcker! He should've taken 25dollars of his own money, bought a tee shirt, and had a "Support Vick" type message printed on the front. But NOOOOO...he wants to wear another team's jersey. The organization's probably pissed about that. Old ass Rooney might not, because at his age he's probably happy just to be alive and living with no cares but, the rest yeah...they're mad. They might not say it being that he's turning out to be a ProBowl reciever AND their No. 1 AND he just won them a SuperBowl but they're still mad underneath. Believe it.
