Report: Tom Cable has a history of hitting women

ESPN's Outside the Lines aired a report this morning in which one ex-wife and one ex-girlfriend accused Oaklaind Raiders head coach Tom Cable of domestic violence.

Marie Lutz, who was dating Cable in January of 2009, described an incident in which Cable slapped her while driving to a restaurant. Ex-wife Sandy Cable says that in 1988, Tom Cable hit her with a closed-fist punch to the jaw. She also showed ESPN this hand-written letter from Cable in which he writes, "Ever since that day I hit you, I've felt like we haven't been as close, like that put a void between us."

Here's the report.

Cable's been in the news recently for an incident involving former assistant coach Randy Hanson. Hanson accused Cable of breaking his jaw and threatening to kill him, though police chose not to pursue charges.

Cable's the only one on the Raiders doing any hitting these days. That woud be a funny line if hitting women wasn't wrong (which it is, by the way- spare me the "smack that b!tch up" arguments. And I'm not a feminist- I'm all man, who loves his wife.)

So, along with Hanson he's hit 3 women? If he's not careful, Davis might fire him.

You know, maybe Cable should fire himself and end his misery, because obviously Al Davis loves the media attention his team is getting, even if it is negative.

any man that puts his hands on a woman is a total punk!....sounds like this clown is a classic bully who needs to get a well deserved beatdown...with that being said the raiders need to cut him loose and find someone who doesn't take things so personal.....punching staff around and geting away with it...thats weak and gay....for the guy who isn't doing anything about getting hit.....

This isn't surprising. The only reason Cable got away with Hanson's hit was because Hanson is an "unpopular" person within the Raider organization - people closed ranks, how typical. Cable should step up and resign, but he won't because it is quite obvious what type of human being he is - a violent, disrespectful jerk who will continue to act this way until someone else comes along and knocks him out or he goes to jail. Sad, sad, sad, Raiders fans deserve better...

Strange, how many Vick haters we have for killing dogs and how many people will stick up for Cable for beating his ex-wives and an assistant.

Cable's the biggest loser in the NFL. A career below.300% got him a head coaching job? Then, he attacks Randy Hanson from behind. He's a wussy. Goes home to beat the wife or girlfriend if a real man says something to his face. Screw him. Lock him away so the booty bandit can teach him a lesson on what it takes to be a man.

This guy seems like the perfect coach for the Raiders. A sleezebag coach, a sleezebag owner = a marriage made in heaven. R. Goodell, I think you need to quickly, but thoroughly investigate this jerk. I'm pretty sure that hitting women is more serious than dog-fighting, though I condone neither. Hey, maybe ya'll can add M. Vick to your organization! Perfect!
