Right
before kickoff on Sunday, the Jacksonville Jaguars announced that blossoming
young receiver Mike Sims-Walker(notes) had been deactivated for the game against the
Seahawks. At the time, no one knew why.
Now, we do, thanks to Michael C. Wright of the Florida Times-Union:
Sims-Walker missed bed check Friday night due to a visit with a female friend that went a little long, according to an NFL source, who described the situation by saying, "undefeated and untied."
HEY-O!
If I were Sims-Walker, I'd argue that I didn't miss bed check ... it's just that the team checked the wrong bed. Maybe it wouldn't have mattered, though. Perhaps head coach Jack Del Rio believes, like Mick, that women weaken legs.
The Jaguars went on to get clubbed by the Seahawks, 41-0. Of course, the presence of Sims-Walker wouldn't have made a 41-point difference, but you can't tell me that the Jags couldn't have used someone who knew how to score.
Gracias, Second-String Fullback.
