Shutdown Corner - NFL

I'm not one of the people who cares tremendously about getting an NFL team back in Los Angeles. I might think differently if I felt like the people of Los Angeles desperately wanted a team, or if I thought the NFL desperately wanted to be there.

Anyway, a fellow named Ed Roski, who has more money than God, has put together a plan to build a handsome new stadium. It's his land, so that's not an issue, but at some point, someone's going to have to come up with the $820 million to build the thing. No word on where that's coming from.

More details here.

Talk about mixed up priorities. Using tax payer dollars to fund a stadium for a private sector NFL team is the height of civic irresponsibility. The Southern California area, especially the greater Los Angeles Area, is an urban cesspool with a crumbling infrastructure. All of the government entities are in a financial crisis due to the irresponsible politicians that are running the state and municipal governments. These politicians are namely,
Arnold "the trojan horse" Schwarzenegger and the mostly Democrat infested assembly in this state.

If he builds it with his own money, like he did with Staples Center, then it is going to get done. But there won't be any public money.
