I
don't know off-hand how many sacks the 49ers had this afternoon, but it's safe
to say that the last one that put Jon Kitna on the turf was not an isolated
incident. After this one, Kitna ended up face down on the sidelines, writhing in
pain.
Dan Orlovsky entered the game in his place. The reaction from the lone Lions fan in the bar?
"Good, I hope it's for the rest of the season. You (badword)ing suck, (badword)ing Kitna."
That's not his given first name. But Lions nation weeps for no man ... especially when that man is a quarterback who isn't very good. And that fan being drunk probably helps, too.
Kitna was up and walking it off before the telecast ended, so don't feel too bad. I don't advocate cheering for injuries, but certainly, Lions fans deserve a little bit of leeway. They've got a lot of frustration and anger pent up, and Jon Kitna isn't a completely unworthy target for it.
At 0-3, we're not far from the point where the old quarterback, no matter how good he is, gets bunched for a younger guy. I don't know if it'll be Dan Orlovsky or Drew Stanton stepping in for him, but just as Jon Kitna's pain seemed to be relieved shortly after the injury, the pain inflicted on Lions fans by Jon Kitna is also not far away from being relieved.
The pain caused by Matt Millen, however, appears to have no expiration date.

Rod is absolutely atrocious in every phase of coaching, which suits the Detroit Lions just fine because they have a horrible organization on the field, in management and all the way to the owners box.

The whole place needs to be leveled in terms of player personnel department, coaches, and all the players - they'd be better off starting truly from scratch and then within five years they could be a contender for a wild-card playoff spot.
Unless they do that (and the won't) they will always suck!
Ford products suck!
This team sucks!
Somebody needs to tell Matt Millen to start running for office as a REPUBLICAN as he sounds about as stupid as McCain does when he says the economy is fundamentally sound - Millen says the team is headed in the right direction! What a crock of smelly green goose turds! LMAO!
I stupidly bought club level season tickets in 2003 and I'll NEVER go to another game even if front row tickets were GIVEN TO ME!
THE LIONS ARE THE LAUGHINGSTOCK OF THE NFL!
I think if they played Florida or USC next week that they would be DOUBLE DIGIT UNDERDOGS TO BOTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Enuff!
Maybe Matt Millen will get canned tomorrow?
Or, is his job security this:
Does he have some photos of William Clay Ford, Sr. having sex with animals at the Detroit Zoo after hours??????????????
