Kerry Collins wants to be the next Dolly Parton

On Sunday night, NBC ran a sports-themed Saturday Night Live special that featured a lot of Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. If you're a Super Bowl-winning quarterback, that's the kind of thing you get to do. If Kerry Collins goes on to win a Super Bowl, though, his dream gig wouldn't be hosting SNL, but instead, a guest spot on Hee Haw.

I knew he dabbled in country music, but I didn't know Collins was so serious about it. The Regina Leader-Post has a story today about his desire to write country music songs. Collins has a music publishing company called Blue Q Music, and he's currently working with Stuart Dill, an accomplished manager who's worked with Freddy Fender, the Wrecker, and Jo Dee Messina.

Collins draws on his own troubled past for material.

Life hasn't always been a string of wins and cheering fans for Collins, who completed rehab for alcoholism after public embarrassments in the late 1990s such as a driving-under-the-influence arrest and a bar scuffle with a teammate.

Although his personal life is now as solid as this season's won-loss record, he mines those dark days to find creative inspiration.

For instance, the song I Don't Need the Whiskey Anymore, about a man who trades his alcohol addiction for an addiction to a woman, contains his favorite line that he's written: "I still get intoxicated but my head ain't quite as sore."

That one's a winner. Maybe Collins could help get Vince Young turned onto country music songwriting, and VY could use it as an outlet for his depression. "Baby, I ain't done too good on the Wonderlic, but at least I ain't Michael Vick" has hit written all over it.

Best of luck to Collins in following his dream. As you might have picked up from the Dolly Parton and Hee Haw references, everything I know about country music, I accidentally learned when I was four years old. So if Collins does make it, I likely won't know about it, but I wish him the best anyway.

His chest isn't big enough to be Dolly, even though he sticks it out a lot after every Titan's win.

If the G-Men can't repeat I would love to see Kerry Collins (great player and great person for the Giants) win a title with the Titans. Out of the remaining playoff teams I would like to see them win in this order:
    1. Giants
    2. Titans
    3. Cardinals (One last hurray for Warner and should lock up hall of fame status)
    4. Panthers (Another former Giants D Coordinator getting the job done)
    5. Eagles (For Hawkins and their great persevering players, not for their fanbase -_-)
    6. Ravens (Can you imagine a rookie QB winning it all?)
    7. Chargers (Great to see LT & company finally getting over the hump)
    8. Steelers (Big Ben & company have plenty of years left to do it again)

I get the impression the eagles arent at the top of your list because of our fans? I am a die hard fan and I have to agree with you. I hate the way many of our fans act at games. In fact many people, myself included, have stopped going to games because we dont want to be around them either.
So with that all being said, I promise America, all Eagles fans aren't that dumb and obnoxious. Some of us are nice and can read
