Former kicker Tony Zendejas charged with rape

Tony Zendejas, who once looked so sweet and harmless in his single-bar facemask, might not be the adorable little kicker elf we once thought him to be.

He was arrested this morning after a woman claimed she raped him (oops) he raped her.

Via TMZ:

The L.A. County D.A. says that in January, the 48-year-old owner of Zendejas Mexican Restaurant in Pomona gave a woman a drink at the popular bar which made her "groggy." They then say the victim woke up at a motel down the street and called police, saying she had been raped.

He was arrested this morning in San Dimas and is still in jail on $260k bail.

This news hasn't been picked up anywhere other than TMZ just yet, so there are no statements or denials from Zendejas out there. Innocent until proven guilty and all.

Either way, the mood will probably be somber tonight at Zendejas Mexican Restaurant & Sports Grill. Taco Thursday is ruined. The slogan on the website says, "It's Party Time, Zendejas Time," but it's probably difficult to carry that cheerful a mood into the pokey.

    What is the world coming to? A woman can rape a man, tell the police, and the police still arrest the guy. Don't get it, read the second sentance again.

    These woman know what they are getting into when they want to party with these athletes.
    And these athletes should be extra careful because all the gold digging woman are looking for a big paycheck when making accusations like this.

    For those who know Spanish I think it would be funny to replace the "Z" in the last name with "P".
    I hope for this guy's sake that he's innocent. It sounds suspicious the story the lady is telling but either way rape is a horrendous crime that should be punished.

    He was in San Dimas. He was probably looking for a telephone booth so he could go back in time and pretend this never happened, but the cops found him first. -1000 schrutebucks for tony, +2,000 for Bill, ted, and rufus (r.i.p)

    Yeah! You know how women love to be raped and how pretty much any amount of money can just make it all ok. You guys should try it sometime.. you know being held down, unable to fight, screaming, and ripped open by another human. Plus that cheesedick doesnt have that much money.

    I have known Tony for almost 15 years. I know for a fact that there are plenty of women who are very jealous of him and want him, but they cannot have him. There are alot of women that go through those doors of his restaurant as well.
    He and his family are the most very friendliest people I have ever come accross. Always going out of there way to say hello or come' esta....
