• Chris Mottram at Mister Irrelevant is experiencing a little bit of a fashion crisis. He likes wearing his Redskins jerseys while watching Redskins games. He recently from from DC to somewhere down south, and apparently, in the south, you don't wear your jersey while watching games. I had no idea this was a southern no-no.

But here's my question for the southern anti-jersey-during-games crowd: If you don't wear a jersey during a game, when the hell do you wear it? I rarely get to participate in the other two most common jersey-wearing occasions; playing in actual NFL games, and appearing in hip-hop videos. If not during the game, when? While playing Madden? At the movies? Tea parties? Scrabble tournaments?

Quasi-related story: a good friend of mine went away to college at Wake Forest, and the night before he was to attend his first game as a freshman, he got drunk, passed out, and missed his ride to the stadium. He rallied, though, got up, and went to the game by himself, shirtless and with one nipple painted black, and the other nipple painted gold. He was slightly taken aback when everyone else had on a shirt and tie.
