Shutdown Corner - NFL

"Cry, Whine and Moan" is a weekly Sunday evening feature where fans of victory-challenged teams can gather to commiserate. Feel free to vent your frustration with your team's players, coaches or management in the comments below. And please, fans of teams who aren't on the list: Leave those less fortunate alone. This post is a taunting-free zone. The losers deserve that much.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs didn't play this week, but still found a way to lose. At the beginning of the day, the Titans and Rams provided them company as winless NFL teams. Now, the Bucs are all alone as the target of ridicule.

Detroit Lions. The Bucs can thank the Lions for leaving them alone in the Winless Club. They lost to the Rams ... you know, that football team in St. Louis. This is what can happen, Rams, when you let Steven Jackson do some of his running when he's near the other team's endzone.

Jacksonville Jaguars. This is the other team that lost to someone winless. It's hard to be that fired up about it, though, because it's not completely unexpected from Jacksonville. Really, nothing they could do would surprise me. I fully expect them to lose to the Chiefs by 65 next week, then beat the Giants by 40.

New York Jets. Admit it, Jets fans, that one hurt. The Manchize threw for 265 yards and 2 TDs, Thomas Jones(notes) broke the 100-yard mark, you bottled up the Dolphins run game, Chad Henne(notes) was Chad Henne, and you outgained the Fish 378 to 104 ... and you still lost. Oof. That would hurt even if it came against some random NFC team you didn't care about, but to the Dolphins? After all that trash-talking? That's got to feel like a good, solid kick to the pancreas.

Cleveland Browns. After the game, running back Jamal Lewis(notes) announced that he was retiring at the end of the season. Here's what I'm wondering: Why freakin' wait? What's the plan, to squeeze a couple more months of enjoyment out of your career? Good luck, my man. Hope you like getting drilled at the line of scrimmage.

Oakland Raiders. It wasn't an all-together terrible performance by the Raiders today, but it was the 13th straight time that they've lost to the Chargers, which can't feel good. It's the longest active such streak in the NFL.

Buffalo Bills. The Bills had been building a little momentum with consecutive wins, but that all ground to a halt today when the Texans drubbed them. There is good news, though. Terrell Owens(notes) scored his second touchdown of the season, so that investment is really starting to pay off.

New York Giants. Remember Week 5, when everyone thought that the Giants were really good? Man. we were so young and naive back then! Everyone's got to grow up sometime, though.

What happened to the Giants? And the Titans won, by more than a field goal too! I'm shocked.

Here's a bizarre thought - had Leodis McKelvin not made one of the Dumbest Plays Evah in Week 1, the Bills would have been in first place in the AFC East headed into today's game. Of course, their extreme suckitude was never in question, and confirmed today. Pity us Bills fans.

I've said this before, but it bears repeating because it's so unbelievable. The Browns wide receivers and running backs (yes, all of them) have combined to score exactly zero touchdowns on offense. You think your team's offense is bad?

I have said it before and I will say it again, Tampa will never win a game until they fire the current head coach. Morris is mentally challenged or some would put it as having a very low IQ. Both are nice ways or politically correct ways of saying the guy is a mental retard. So how on earth did Morris land the head coach job. One can only guess he had some dirt on the owners or the owners wanted the team to do terrible on purpose. Maybe if the team does so poorly this and the next few years, they can find a way to move the team to LA and the new stadium being built there.

The worst part about the Bucs is that their owners honestly do not give a crap. This "rebuilding/youth movement" routine is fooling about 10% of the fans - the 10 dumbest percent. Everyone knows they are deep in debt and they're running this team with cheapness that probably hasn't been matched in the salary-cap era. It's an embarrassment to everyone, including themselves.

Well, the Raiders didn't do too bad. I mean, yeah, Russell fu_cked up on that INT, but compared to how they played against the Giants and Jets, they did alright.

Of course anderson gets benched, next week is our bye and after that we don't have to pay quinn $10.8 million to start. Browns fans remember to miss the kick-off monday against the ravens. I hope the viviting fans will be kind enough to keep out of their seats durring kick-off too. Make the point that you want real competition in the NFL. This season should disgust all fans of every team. there should be no reason for so many bad teams and crappy records. It really cheapens the sport when so many can do so lousy. Big congrats this year for what ever team wins the super bowl you will have surely earned it.

"The Manchize"? That doesn't really make sense, nor is it nearly as catchy or apropos as "Sanchize" which is what pretty much everyone else is calling him.
Either was it is obnoxious, but yours is obnoxious, and a rip off, and not funny anyway.
