Shutdown Corner - NFL

Let's take a short break this morning from FavreFest, so we can try to make Chad Ochocinco(notes) feel better about himself and his place in the world.

In a Tweet directed at his new playmate Terrell Owens(notes), Chad Ochocinco expressed a belief that there's a double standard in the media when it comes to Brett Favre's(notes) attention whoring, and his own attention whoring.

Here's the Tweet:

Dear Chad,

I'd like to officially invite you to become a Shutdown Corner reader. I swear, I loathe Brett Favre way, way, way more than I loathe you.

Now, I'd be lying if I said I was your biggest fan. I'm not. But I at least think you're a pretty solid guy, you're honest with yourself and everyone else about your attention mongering, and you've pretty much set a new standard for an athlete making himself accessible to his fans.

And when I see you on television (except on your VH1 show, which, I'm sorry, is one of the dumber things ever captured on film), I almost always feel like you're being real. You're at least yourself. You're not actively trying to deceive anyone.

These are all things I admire, and I promise, I will never say anything that nice about Brett Favre. I will especially never say anything about Favre like what I said about you in the above paragraph. He's pretty much the opposite of that.

Also, Wrangler jeans are uncomfortable and he spells his last name wrong.
