If the accusation itself deserves a post, then so does the denial. Here's what Brady Quinn had to say about the allegations that he shouted homosexual slurs at people (homosexual people, I presume) outside of a Cleveland bar on New Year's Day.

"At no time that night was I involved in a verbal or physical altercation, nor did I have any interaction with the police. I want to be clear that I did not engage in any of the alleged conduct, nor did I make inappropriate comments to anyone.

"Any allegations to the contrary are either untrue or the result of misidentification."

That's peachy and everything, except that police said that when they arrived at the scene, Quinn was engaged in an argument with some dude (for the record, it wasn't the guy who made the 911 call).

So at the very least, Quinn was involved in a verbal altercation, contrary to what he says in the statement. And if one part of the statement is less than truthful, I think it's reasonable to wonder if there's anything else in the statement that's less than truthful.

Like I said yesterday, I don't want to believe Quinn did this, and in his defense, police said that they didn't know what the argument was about and didn't hear Quinn yell anything at anyone else. 

So I'm not going to leap to the conclusion that Quinn's a homophobe and is out there screaming slurs at gay people. I'd like to believe he's better than that. I'm a glass is half-tolerant kind of a guy, what can I say?
