Shutdown Corner - NFL

The description on YouTube says that this video is of Ben Roethlisberger biting it while bowling, just days after he was taken off the field on a stretcher in Week 17. I guess there are two ways you could look at it. One, if he's healthy enough to bowl, he's healthy enough for football. Or two, the big oaf fell, so his equillibrium must still be affected.

Or maybe Ben's just clumsy on the lanes. We can't all be Walter Sobchak.

Or maybe the video's from years ago, and it has absolutely no relevance to anything. After all,  if you believed everything you read in YouTube video descriptions, you'd be locked in an empty room right now with a box of crayons and a protective helmet.

It's probably best to just enjoy it for what it is; footage of Ben Roethlisberger falling down while bowling.

Nice find, Pittsburgh Sports and Mini Ponies.

If the front line had been protecting him, it would have been a strike.

If the front line had been protecting him, he would've fallen down from surprise.

why is james harrision getting all the credit in pittsburgh? if you look at their team their whole defense is probowl material, he is just the pass rusher so he had a tad bit better numbers. their offense also has stars at every position. pittsburgh is definitly a team with stars throught the line up.

I question your abilities as a journalist, MJD!
Also, my mom fell down bowling once. I laughed. I wasn't saying my mom's a bad mom, and this doesn't say anything bad about Roethlisberger. It's just funny. Calm down, people.

I hope Big Ben shows up in the playoffs and not Big 'Dumb'. I appreciate his ability to make plays, but sometimes he holds on to the ball way to long. I know his line cannot protect him but when they do he sometimes holds the ball to long. So please Big Ben show up to the playoffs, not Big Dumb. If Big Dumb shows up I hope for an injury so Leftwich can win for the Steelers.

If Steelers lose it's because of Ben or Bruce Arians or both. At least two of the games the Steelers lost this year Ben gift wrapped them and the Defense has bailed him and the O-line out several games and has pretty much been carry the Offense much of the season. They've had all year to get their act together and why they haven't is anyone's guess. I haft to say, we'll probably see the same-o-same offense come Sunday that we've been seeing all season and if they win it will be the defense that gets the job done. Tomlin keep's talking about getting their running game going but one would haft to ask what running game? WP wants the ball more but when he gets it he's generally running into te back of his own team mates or he's dropped in the backfield for a loss. And don't expect Tomlin to yank Ben if he starts stinking things up, he's thrown as much as 4 interceptions in a game and fumbled several times and Tomlin just stays the course and goes down with the ship.
