About Marvin Harrison and his hand cannon

A couple of updates on the Marvin Harrison saga, one of which may be relevant, and one that's probably not. ESPN's Sal Paolantonio says police told him that shell casings found near Harrison's car wash came from Harrison's gun. Harrison's agent still says Harrison's gun wasn't involved in the shooting.

And Pro Football Talk heard a crazy report that the guy who was allegedly shot in the hand was there to carry out a "hit" on Harrison for something Harrison's father had done. This is the one I think we can feel free to disregard.

here's my question, why is Marvin Harrison buying a car wash in Philly? Thats the best thing you could invest in? Did you see it on t.v.? I think a lemonade stand would have been a better investment

That's true. By law in Pennsylvania, if your gun is involved in an investigation and charges are filed, the gun owner is culpable. The real question we should be asking here is "reckless endangerment?" or "attempted murder?"

Or maybe self-defense? I find it ironic that you are so quick to dismiss the rumor that might make him look good with no more proof of its validity or lack thereof than the other. Oh, wait, I forgot, Marvin is an EEEEEVIL owner of a scaaawwwwy gun.
How many times have you laid down your gun on the bedside table and all of a sudden it just jumps up and starts trying to shoot people?
Guns aren't the problem. They never have been and they never will be. It's people who are willing to use guns to commit murder, robbery, or other forms of mayhem. And self-defense is not mayhem.

Why hasn't he been arrested or charged? They proved it was his custom handgun that fired the shots that injured a man and a child. He lied to police about having the gun being at his house when in actuality the gun was found in a bucket at his business down the street. He was seen leaving and arguing with the man who was shot! This is an open and shut case and he belongs in jail where anyone else who isn't a star football would be. Police are a joke and should be investigated. Guess the police are too busy arresting people for jaywalking...Whats wrong with law enforcement and why a lot of people dislike and don't trust pigs!

The NFL has to suspend this guy for a year if he doesn't go to jail. This isnt his first violent crime; he also strangled a young boy who annoyed him. Silent but deadly! If this was me or you we would be in jail! Legal system is a joke. OJ lives!

Seems like Harrison is going to be catching a lot of $hit for this. It's pretty obvious it's his gun, it's the guy he had the altercation with who was shot, and the bullet casings came from his gun. Guess he'll deserve what he gets. It's a shame. I think he's been one of the best receivers in the league, if not the best, for the past few years now. It'd be too bad if he threw it all away chasing some drunk patron down and shooting at him because he argued with him. But, that's what players in the NFL seem to want to do. At least, according to the book Pros and Cons. Congrats Marvin. Now meet your cell-mate.

#7 KWT, you can't find it "ironic" because there is no irony involved. People aren't considering the "self defense" aspect because he's denying he shot anyone, the gun was hidden, the shells were moved and hidden, and the victim is all quiet about what happened. With that many oddities, it tends to step away from a simple "self defense" scenario. If he shot him in self defense, he would admit to it, and hand over the gun, not try to hide it.

Looks like Marvins going to be following in his dads foot steps....yea his dads currently serving time in jail. Marvin has a history of bizarre violent behavior. He strangled some teenager for reasons Im not sure of.. Why didn't he just call the police if he had a problem at his bar. A child was injured along with the man shot during his latest rampage..

It's his gun. They are pulling bullets out of surrounding houses. It's just real lucky a stray round didn't kill somebody in their house.

Why would this guy own the most devastating pistol ever produced from a ballistics standpoint if he was a so-called, "Mr. Nice Guy?" Something doesn't smell right about this whole ordeal. The guy owns businesses in North Philly, a notorious sector for violent crime, carries a cannon, and deals with nefarious characters.. Is it so farfetched that he was directly involved?
