Zdeno Chara: Dealt With Hip Flexor in Playoffs

Update: In the wake of the Bruins' postseason elimination, GM Peter Chiarelli noted Wednesday that Chara played with hip flexor injury "that was pretty potent."

Recommendation: Upon completion of the Stanley Cup finals, injury info on both the Bruins and Blackhawks' dinged up players is trickling in. The report doesn't specify how long Chara dealt with his hip issue, but there had been plenty of speculation that something was hobbling the big blueliner as the playoffs wound down. Despite the injury, Chara managed 15 points in 22 postseason games. He'll now have the entire offseason to recover from his aches and pains and will continue to anchor the team's blue line in 2013-14, on the heels of a 19-point effort in 48 regular season contests.
