Inter captain Javier Zanetti hopes to play "at least once more" for the club after his campaign was brought to an abrupt end on Sunday.
The Nerazzurri star picked up an Achilles tendon injury during his side's 0-1 defeat at Palermo, effectively ruling him out for the remainder of the campaign.
Despite his age, the the 39-year-old is eager to recover and get back into action, even if it will only be for one match.
"I'd like to at least play once more in front of my fans. And I hope it's more than one," he told Inter channel.
"My aim is to recover, undergo physio with the medical staff, which is the one of the best around. Then, when I feel better, I'll try to return to action."
Inter currently sits seventh in Serie A, and Zanetti stressed that he will give his full support to the team in its push to finish in a European spot for next term.
"I'll be an extra fan and I'm sure they'll give everything to secure a spot in the Europa League."
