Zach Randolph earned his 15th double-double this season, scoring 25 points and registering 15 rebounds, to help the Memphis Grizzlies beat the New York Knicks, 95-87. The Grizzlies shot 39-82 (47.6%) from the field and controlled the offensive glass with 13 rebounds. This is only the third win for Memphis (11-15) in its last 10 games.
Randolph went 9-18 from the field and 7-10 from the free throw line. Memphis also got solid performances from Tony Allen with 19 points and 8 rebounds, and Kosta Koufos with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Carmelo Anthony had another strong performance for New York despite the loss, scoring 30 points on 11-22 shooting (2-6 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 6-7 from the free throw line. He also tallied 7 rebounds. J.R. Smith chipped in 16 points and 7 assists.
New York (8-18) could not get back-to-back victories after defeating Milwaukee on Wednesday.
Coming up, the Grizzlies play the Utah Jazz, who are 7-22 on the season. The Knicks match up against the Orlando Magic, currently sitting at 8-18 this year. The Knicks have a 1-0 record against Orlando this season.
