Youngstown State 60, Loyola-Chicago 59

Blake Allen buried a 3-pointer with 10.2 seconds left to give Youngstown State a 60-59 victory over visiting Loyola-Chicago in a Horizon League game on Thursday night.

Loyola's Devon Turk missed the second of two free throws with 21.1 seconds left to leave the Ramblers with only a two-point lead. Allen followed with his first 3-pointer of the game, but the senior has 197 in his career.

Loyola's Jeff White then missed a driving jumper at the buzzer.

The Ramblers (13-11 overall, 3-8 Horizon) trailed by 14 points at the halftime intermission and by 15 in the second half before taking a three-point lead with 31 seconds remaining at 58-55.

Kendrick Perry then scored on a layup to get the Penguins (14-10, 6-5) within one, 58-57, when Turk went to the line and made the first of his two opportunities.

Loyola had three players in double figures with Christian Thomas leading all scorers with 19 points. The Penguins also had three players in double figures with Kendrick Perry leading with 18 points.

The victory gave the Penguins a sweep of the two-game season series. They won at Loyola 68-66.
