The 2012 MLB regular season is well underway with over two months of baseball already in the books. It is still a long road to October, but paths are already starting to take shape and many surprises have already occurred along the way. The early portions of the season bring promise but at this point anything can still happen.
The highlight of the day will be when the New York Yankees visit the Washington Nationals at Nationals Ballpark in Washington, D.C.
Phil Hughes (6-5, 4.76 ERA) will take the mound for the Yankees facing off against Gio Gonzalez (8-2, 2.35 ERA). The Nationals and the emergence of rookie phenom Bryce Harper have been a surprise to many casual fans of the game. It will certainly be exciting to see how the two teams square up.
With a number of great games to be played on the day, this will be one of the better ones.
