The New York Jets released their 2012 training schedule for the facility in Cortland, NY. Not every session is open to the public. The players arrive on July 26. Fans can watch the team starting on July 28. I'm ready for football. Preseason offers so much hope.
Most of the training camps are held at SUNY in Cortland, NY. A few of the public sessions are at the Atlantic Jets Health Training Center and Jets Family Night is at Hofstra University.
Parking at the Atlantic Jets Health Training Center is very limited so get there early. This is the Florham Park facility. To get the most recent information on the training camps call (973) 549-4844. Call before heading out to check for last minute cancellations.
Fans get to observe training camp from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. starting on July 28. Sessions run daily until August 2. Jets Fest, a min-theme park with activities and inflatable attractions for fans, runs from 7:00 a.m. until noon each day. Take the kids, it's a blast.
The rest of the open training camp schedule is as follows, location is at SUNY Cortland, unless otherwise noted:
August 4, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Jets Fest runs from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
August 6, from 10:15 to 1:15 p.m. Jets Fest runs from 9:15 to 2:15 p.m.
August 8, from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. Jets Fest runs from 7:00 a.m. to noon.
August 12, from 10:15 to 1:15 p.m. Jets Fest runs from 9:15 to 2:15 p.m.
August 14 and 15, from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. Jest Fest is from 7:00 a.m. to noon.
August 21, Jets Family Night at Hofstra University from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jets Fest runs from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.
August 23 and 24, from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Atlantic Jets Health Training Center. Jets Fest runs from 7:00 a.m. until noon.
I look forward to preseason every year. This year is different for me and probably most Jets' fans. It is a mystery as to what New York plans to do with Tim Tebow. Maybe we will have a better idea of what Gang Green is planning once the training sessions start.
