The Jets gave up scoring plays of 72 yards and 44 yards and were destroyed by the Bengals, 49-9, in Cincinnati.
Geno Smith finished 20 for 30 passing for only 159 yards and no touchdowns and two picks. Andy Dalton was more productive for the Bengals, and finished 19 for 30 with 325 yards passing, five touchdowns and one pick.
The New York defense managed to contain the running game, but could not slow down the passing attack, giving up 79 yards rushing and 323 passing. They registered a single sack on Dalton.
Finally, Nick Folk was perfect, making all three of the field goals he attempted.
Bengals wide receiver Marvin Jones had a big game, putting up 122 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Wide receiver A.J. Green also had a good game with 115 receiving yards.
The Jets will play host to the Saints (6-1) next week while the Bengals head to Miami Gardens to face off with the Dolphins (3-4).
