Yankees' prospect Williams charged with DUI

The SportsXchange

New York Yankees top outfield prospect Mason Williams was arrested and charged with drunk driving early Thursday morning, according to multiple reports.

Williams, 21, was stopped for allegedly speeding and weaving shortly after 1 a.m. ET. and he had a blood-alcohol level of .062 and .067 in separate readings, multiple media outlets reported, citing Tampa police records. Though both reading are below Florida's legal limit of .08, police said Williams failed field sobriety tests.

Ranked as the top prospect in the Yankees' system by Baseball America, Williams is batting .271 with a .400 on-base percentage for high Class A Tampa. He is coming off a 2011 season in which he batted a combined .298 with 11 homers at low Class A Charleston and Tampa.
