Yankees claim Canzler off waivers

The New York Yankees have claimed infielder/outfielder Russ Canzler off waivers from the Cleveland Indians, the Yankees announced Friday.

Canzler, 26, appeared in 26 games, including 24 starts, for the Indians as a September call-up in 2012. He hit .269 with three home runs.

The Yankees will need to make a corresponding move to make room on the 40-man roster.
