Yankees bring up reliever Miller

The SportsXchange

The New York Yankees on Tuesday purchased the contract of right-handed pitcher Jim Miller to help restore a depleted bullpen after Monday's 12th inning loss to the Tampa Bay rays.

To make room for Miller, the Yankees optioned right-handed pitcher Jose Ramirez to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

New York also transferred left-handed pitcher CC Sabathia to the 60-day disabled list.

Miller, 32, compiled a 2.85 ERA in 41 innings at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
