RCI, the vacation exchange brand under Wyndham Worldwide Corporation WYN, expanded its global presence by adding 70 new properties to its affiliate exchange network during the first half of 2016. The additions include resorts in Asia, Europe, the Caribbean islands and the Americas.

These affiliations add to the existing 4300 properties of RCI spread across over 100 countries. RCI being the pioneer in the field of vacation exchange, offers flexibility and versatility in the vacation ownership experience to its enormous base of 3.8 million subscribing guests each year.

RCI also recently added a tropical resort along the coast in Lucea, Jamaica, featuring 13 bars, a private beach, and first-class sports facilities, among other attractions. Other new affiliations include resorts in the Dominican Republic, Japan, Tennessee, etc.

Notably, Wyndham Worldwide operates out of three segments. The RCI brand is part of Wyndham Destination Network, other segments being the Wyndham Hotel Group and the Wyndham Vacation Ownership.

Last year, the brand added 170 new resorts to its portfolio. The newly added properties were spread across all six populated continents. Going forward, the company expects to continue its saga of domestic and international expansion, on the back of rising demand.

Meanwhile, we note that, Wyndham is consistently trying to expand its presence worldwide. Particularly, expansion in the lucrative markets of Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Indian Ocean is expected to help the company gain market share in the hospitality industry, thus boosting its business.

Interestingly, the acquisition of Dolce Hotels and Conference Centers in Feb last year has expanded its presence globally due to consolidated market share. Notably, Marriott International, Inc. MAR is following a similar strategy through the acquisition of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. HOT.
